Days of Future Past Days of Future Past SPOILERS! (You have been warned!) - Part 3

Yeah but that's back to my point of why does it seem like Wolverine ironically seems to be the only x-man to have aged?

Unless the original trilogy actually took place in the 2010's as opposed to the 2000's so it wouldn't be that many years passed? I guess they were kinda vague about that aspect.

Cause he has a little grey in his hair? It was just a way to distinguish future and past Logan easier as well as a nod to the comic. No need to read into it anymore than that.

I guess it's more of the ambiguity of how far is 2023 from the original trilogy's time? Did they take place in the early 2000's the years they were released, which would have made everybody in 2023 about 20 years or so older?

There's a timeline around here somewhere, but yes. They took place roughly the same years they came out IIRC.

Funny thing is they only displayed certain copied powers, they didn't use Storm, Blink, Magneto, or Bishops abilities.

Well the Sentinels used only physical abilities (diamond, rock, fire, ice, claws) , as the rest of those would have to be controlled mentally, which they can't because they don't have minds. They won't be phasing through things or freezing minds, ever. If they had minds (which we know they're bio organic), Xavier would have just turned them off. Well except Bishop, but they can already do things a bit stronger than it *friggin lasers coming out of their friggin heads*

Also, I don't think they copied powers, but rather had an arsenal of powers stored in them to use. They don't necessarily need to copy Iceman, Colossus or Sunspot's powers because I have a stove, a freezer, and a metal spoon right here in my house.

I'm sure this has already been answered, but which Charles was that at the end of DOFP? McAvoy's memories from the past after he stopped Mystique, or Stewart's memories from the original timeline?

I've been trying to make sense of it but the whole premise becomes more complicated at each attempt :P

They are the same Charles. One grows into the other. 2023 Charles in the corrected future doesn't have memories of the OT aside from what he read/will read, from Logan's mind.

Ugh, did that Stewart mention even make sense? Lol now I've confused myself even more... Can someone elaborate on what exactly happens with the timelines? It's been explained so many times (two sets of timelines, etc) but I've never gotten a complete explanation.

The only person that remembers what originally happened after the point that time changes is the time traveler himself. Logan. Everyone else continues to exist as if that reality is the only one they have ever known. Kitty says it when she's explaining the rules of time travel before she sends Logan back.

The timeline changed as soon as they changed the events in 1973. Charles went on to become Professor X, but with the memories that he was visited by a future version of Logan and met with a future version of himself, both from the original timeline.

McAvoy's memories from the past after he stopped Mystique.

OK, thanks.

I'm curious as to how they crossed paths again (after Mystique)... So basically Charles finds him again knowing that Logan's consciousness would return at some point...?

Logan did tell him to seek them out. Hopefully we'll see lots of that in Apocalypse, and whatever other films come next.

We'll find out in Apocalypse, won't we :cwink:

This pic was floating around a lot among the promotional material but it looks like they cut it from the film.

Looks like he had some sort of drink and contemplate going on after dealing with the thugs.

I love that they actually went ahead and just
retconmed TLS and Origins out of continuity. Removing bad storylines from continuity is such a comic book thing to do and they just did it in a big-budget Hollywood movie. Also, the Cyclops, Jean, and old Beast cameos were awesome.

Thanks guys.

OK, just to be clear (so I won't bug you forever)... I've been wrong - from listening to previous explanations, that the ending insists that two timelines have been created? I've been following the whole "now anything can happen" explanation without taking DOFP's ending into account... So basically, whatever happens in Apocalypse and any future films that focus on the First Class cast, will still lead into the 2023 scene that Logan wakes up in?

Thanks guys.

Unless time travel is involved in Apocalypse again, which I hope not, yes, everything here on out is filling in the gaps between '73 and the corrected 2023 future Logan wakes up in. That doesn't mean Jean can't die and come back to life a few times in between. haha

Well, the 2023 future Logan wakes up in could be utopian mutant AoA for all we know.

Yes.

Thank. YOU.

Because I've been seeing things differently, I've been somewhat disappointed in hearing Kinberg say that from here on out they'll just focus on the First Class cast. Like I said, I've (initially) been looking at DOFP's ending as if the OT becomes like, a parallel universe now and rules out any possibility of seeing the original cast again.

With that said, I'd imagine it'd become a bit awkward if they jump to 2005 in a later movie and, say Scott doesn't look like James Marsden (... because he did in X1) :wow: I hope the writers don't feel restricted to focusing on the 80's/90's just so they can avoid explanations for not using the older actors.

A quick question:

Some of you told me Jason Stryker is supposed to be 10 years old. A wacko on IMDB is repeating the fact they said he was 8.

Can you tell me, please?

He was 10 years old.

Anyone know what Storm's shocking revelation is? I loved the nod to the 90s uniform she wore in the future at the school. It was pretty refreshing to see Storm wearing all white.

It's pretty much the ultimate problem solver.
