DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 2

Normally, I wouldn't want Superman made to be political, but it's Morrison. His version of, well, everything is generally nothing like what you'd expect. So who knows what he means by liberal activist.

Either way, after his Batman run, I trust him to turn out a phenomenal product.

Having looked at the solicitations, I think I'm pretty much only gonna check out Action Comics, Resurrection Man, and Demon Knights. Maybe Blue Beetle as well, although I would've been much more interested if they'd brought John Rogers back for it. Tony Bedard's work is hit-or-miss for me.

For me?

GL titles.
Justice League Prime and International.

Lot's of others I never read have me interested. Suicide Squad for instance.

I think I might try a Superman title... not sure which.

Love the Legion so I'll try one of 'em.

Never been interested in the Titans since the Wolfman gang left. Maybe I'll try the new mag.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

I'm going to try like 90% of the books.

I dont know much about the Legion or Swamp thing, so can anyone tell me why they're awesome? I dont mean that i dont think they are, I mean i have read about them on wiki, but i want someone to give me the cool factor, the main hook of these characters so i get a better grasp of them.

Thanks a lot in advance!

With the Legion it's all about "possibilities". Think of a cool superhero concept and I bet the Legion has a "Lad" or "Girl" who will fit the bill.

And then of course there is the fact that it's a melding of the superhero and sci-fi genre's. What a plus! And then after ALL that you start to like the characters and their dynamic relationships with one another. From powerful women like Saturn Girl to typical male machismo in Ultra Boy. From innocent Chameleon Boy to kranky ass Brainiac-5.

Throw in just a smidge of teen angst and you've got a great Legion formula.

At least in the past that's what I liked about it.

:ST: :ST: :ST:

Oh yeah, and Batman, Inc. when it relaunches at half-past whenever-the-f***. Might as well stick with Morrison and see where he intended to end his Batman stuff, even if it's a slightly off, post-relaunch version of that ending.

Its gonna resume in early 2012.

Yeah. So I'll read that too. 4 DC series, maybe 5 or 6 depending on what else I hear about some others. If nothing else, this relaunch'll do my wallet good.

I will be spending A LOT of money in September and October.

how fast do you think these #1s will sell out, considering they're the #1 issues.

I mean, should I go to my local comic shop and preorder them? should I pick them up on day one?

Some issues will probably go fast, like all the top tier sellers (JL, Batman, Superman, etc.). It won't be an issue for most of them, though. I would think making sure to be there on day one would be enough

From Dustin Nguyen's journal:

>Hey cousins, i’ve been getting messages all week asking where i am in the DCnu line up and wanted to thank those for their concern.

>Aside from providing covers for a few, Derek Fridolfs and myself have already invested ourselves into another DC franchise ( we started immediately after Streets Of Gotham ended) that will be announced and launched later this year. Obviously, i cant reveal much more, but i can say it’s something we’ve all been waiting to happen- not just as creators, but as fans. I seriously cant wait to talk about it some more, and show the stuff we've been doing for the past few months. its gonna be huge. thanks guys!

How badass would it be if they were working on Batman, Inc.'s relaunch? :hehe:

And remember: they'll have unlimited "copies" of the digital versions! :awesome:

something i gleened from Gail Simone's interview at Newsarama...more books coming after september

Well, of course. How could a comic company survive with a measly 52 titles? ;)

I don't really have a local comic book shop that's closeby. Can anyone recommend online retailers available to pre-order these titles?

I am interested in this too.

are there any reputable online comic book retailers?

HeavyInk.com. You can set up subscriptions and everything. You'll get your comics a week later than everyone else, but that's usually not a big problem.

Newsarama is live-blogging Johns' and Lee's panel, which is just about to start.

They ll be 40 in a few months.

Yeah but wont we be able to get comics online from DC itself?
