In between Kory's retconned promiscuous behavior and Harley's outfit. It's only a matter of time before there's another woman stuffed in a refrigerator. :csad:

well technically seeing as it seems GL continuity has just carried over that already happened:woot::csad:

Catwoman was really cool. But come on, she doesn't know who Batman is anymore? I thought they said the Bat books won't be affected by the reboot.

They just wont be heavily affected. Tim is a teen again and not an adult so that already affected things. Though I dont get what making them not know each other outside of costume or well masks is going to do. Make things more steamy?

Maybe it's like the Aunt May scenario. Retcon her knowing Peter's identity so that we can have another written scene between them.

Then... retcon that again.

Hrn.

BOP was good, though they shouldve just left Helena in the book, not bother creating Starling, and I wonder if anything bad happened between Babs/Dinah since she didnt seem so happy to see her. But I dont know why they always have to do these group books, put the entire group on the first cover and then half the group isnt even involved. It's annoying.

Anyone read DC Presents? How was it?

Really not a fan of Red Hood and the Outlaws. Starfire got turned into the team doorknob - everyone gets a turn. Come on DC, even though I was not a fan of hers, she was never that "easy" before. lol

My ranking of the new 52 books I've read so far

1. Batman 1- 10/10
2. Animal Man 1- 9.5/10
3. Action Comics 1- 9.5/10
4. Wonder Woman 1- 9/10
5. Green Lantern 1- 8/10
6. Stormwatch- 7.5/10
Frankenstein- 7.5/10
Demon Knights- 7.5/10
Detective Comics- 7.5/10
7. Nightwing- 7/10
Swamp Thing- 7/10
8. Deathstroke- 6/10
Resurrection Man 6/10

DC Presents was pretty good. A nice portrayal of Deadman's character, but it didn't really get into the story much. So the jury's out until the next issue, though I'm probably interested enough to pick #2 up.

The guy at my comic shop said Men of War was cancelled as of issue 6. That's sad. I loved the first issue.

I'm hesitant to believe that. I don't recall DC in recent memory ever canceling a series after one issue.

Not to mention, Didio has stated he thinks there should always be a western and a war title in DC's lineup.

If that's the case I'll get the Hardcover when it comes out.

How come we have seen little new on this cancellation then?

Cuz it's probably boos**t.

Or it's not.

I don't know. I didn't ask him where he got the info from. If it's true, it sucks. If not, then cool.

Anyways, Batman #1 was awesome. Nightwing #1 was pretty cool.

Wonder Woman was interesting. I like the the scope that this issue plants. Hopefully this story is as huge and epic as it seems. My biggest gripe was how quickly it read. The better issues of the re-launch have had lots of characterization. The lesser titles haven't, which is why I felt they were the lesser books. Wonder Woman was just pure action. But I was engaged by it. Azzarello can write. So we'll see. I'll stick with it, but I want to see more of Wonder Woman and what's going on inside her head.

and I picked up Resurrection Man #1 today. That was pretty damn cool, too.

Blackhawks is another war title though. So technically if Men of War bites it, they have at least 1 war book.

I really hope they don't have Dinah and Babs be at odds with each other :csad:

I read that scene more as Barbara not thinking that restarting the Birds of Prey is a good idea. Which also seems out of character but hopefully there will be a sensible explanation

Yep that was my only major complaint as well

Good point.

Of course, I could say my comic shop guy told me they were canceling Detective Comics after 7 issues.

Does that make it true?

does anyone feel like the relaunched books have been far more adult and violent in tone/content?

Not necessarily.

All of the "Dark" books definitely have a similar tone. Which makes sense as they're all former Vertigo titles.

Wonder Woman did feel like it was one of those Dark titles.

But outside of that, the tone seems pretty much the same in the other books. Outside of the usual changes that happens with new writers and whatnot.
