Same here. Aquaman in the top 20 is unheard of. So happy. I hope that it ends up performing like Green Lantern did. Yeah, it was outside of the top 20 in the title's early days, but is now a consistent top 10 seller due to people really liking it.

:woot:

It's about time he was

Really pleased to see great books like Batwoman, Aquaman and Batman so high on the charts and I hope they keep on selling really well

Little bit dissapointed that Demon Knights and Stormwatch arent in the top twenty though hopefully they make it onto it this month

I wouldn't put much stock into sales until around issues 3-5.

DC dominated the sales charts by taking all spots in the top 5, eight spots in the top 10 and seventeen spots in the top 20.

1. Batman #1
2. Action Comics #1
Aha, take it, Supes. Take it and like it.

:o

I'm surprised to see snyder beat morrison

but I suppose batman always wins

Those books were never going to make it in the top 20, so anyone who is disappointed that they weren't higher is just fooling themselves. Hell, everything Cornell touches gets canceled anyways. Hell look at this quote of his from a year ago about when he took over Action Comics:

“My wife said when I first got the book, ‘Well, at least they can’t cancel Action Comics.’”

Action Comics was later cancelled with issue #904 with Cornell at the helm :o.

Does anybody know if the upcoming Batman Noel graphic novel is going to be set in the new DC universe or is it going to be elseworlds?

Here's an interesting article from Bleeding Cool:

- The DC relaunch is doing fantastically in the United Kingdom. Britain as a whole has responded better to the relaunch than the United States did.

- The numbers Diamond released for September 2011 took into account the returnability factor and doesn't account how they were fully ordered. Since returns of the New 52 in September are going to be extremely miniscule, and the few books that do get returned are going to be the lower selling books. Diamond also doesn't take into account Britain. This actually changes the chart quite a bit.

- Based on how retailers ordered the New 52 books due to the returnability (again, few books are going to be returned), Marvel has actually failed to capture a single spot in the Top 10. This is how they say retailers actually ordered:

1. Batman #1
2. Action Comics #1
3. Superman #1
4. Green Lantern #1
5. the Flash #1
6. Detective Comics #1
7. Batman: the Dark Knight #1
8. Batman and Robin #1
9. Batgirl #1
10. Green Lantern Corps #1
11. Fear Itself #6
12. Teen Titans #1
13. Aquaman #1
14. Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #1
15. Green Lantern: New Guardians #1
16. Red Lanterns #1
17. Justice League Dark
18. Nightwing #1
19. Justice League International #1
20. Wonder Woman #1

It'll be great news for DC if this trend holds for another six months or so. Until then, it's just a hiccup.

Its a massive hiccup even if its just a hiccup. its nothing but a positive.

I think its a nice shot in the arm for the industry as a whole.

it's a shot that won't last long, unfortunately. The DC reboot seems to have achieved their short term goal of getting new/more readers, but I don't see it lasting for longer than the 6 months Corp gave it. I've already decided to drop about half of the books I picked up #1's of.

In the end this was a Crisis on Infinite Earths kind of reboot, with some things being discarded and other stories staying in continuity

I hope it holds but i already know people who are deciding to trade wait some of these new books.

The numbers aren't going to hold up purely because they're unrealistically incredible numbers to begin with.

The question is, will it improve DC's sales overall. And really, all it needs to do that is to have a handful of books in the top ten consistently. That, I think it can do.

Creatively, I think it's already a pretty big success. I mean, think about it. Were any of DC's major books any good prior to the relaunch?

Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman were bad, JLA was awful, and Flash was barely better than mediocre. The GL books and Morrison's Batman was the only tihng that was supporting DC quality-wise.

Now, all of those major titles have improved. Plus, you still should have the GL and Batman books putting out their usual sales numbers.

And then on top of that, you have the introduction of all of the Dark books that almost all of them seem be be incredibly good.

I sincerelly hope that DC keeps up selling more than Marvel, even before the relaunch the present dc comics were better than Marvel's, even the events were superior, while Marvel seems to get an event out of it's ass 2 or 4 times a year, DC's events are much more interesting and are better written.

Action Comics, Detective Comics, Batman Incorporated, Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, and the Flash.

Also Krul did a good job turning Teen Titans around, Gail Simone's Secret Six was utterly brilliant, Miller's Batgirl was a really fun book, Nicieza's Red Robin was great, Justice League of America had some good stories under Robinson but was hampered by a terrible roster.

The chance they took worked so you have to give them credit in saying that they also understand that 52 books arent going to sell like this at all times. What this did do is get people talking about comics and put DC in the mainstream for a bit. I work at a University and I can tell you Ive heard people talking about this relaunch and particular issues and Ive never heard people talk about comics since I started working there.

I don't know if I'll continue to read Red Lanterns. Two issues(one that kept skipping panels) and nothing exciting has happened.

Yeah, there were plenty of good comics before. And most of the New 52 that are really catching on are new comics anyway. Batman and Action Comics are the only real standouts that were already being published before. So basically DC could've just launched a bunch of new comics like Swamp Thing, Animal Man, etc. and they'd still be publishing about as many great comics as they are now. But they likely wouldn't have sold as well without the big publicity stunt of a line-wide reboot to new #1s.
