DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 6

Fun fact: Alan Moore's comic proposals include small sketches of character designs, coffee stains, and the word "SAD!" over and over again.

I really hope they don't do anything like that. I would utterly hate it if DC did another reboot and I'd hate it even more if they did a full reboot :csad: :down

I dont want the characters I care about to be rebooted

Why no love for Alan Moore's work Kurosawa

A reboot isn't a reboot if it isn't a full reboot.

But I'm afraid Alan Moore will come to my house and show me the back of his pimp hand :csad:

Oh no, you don't get off that easy. He's beard is going to go all Tetsuo on you

I want this to happen solely because I need more angry Alan Moore articles in my life.

This and the fanboy backlash is going to be as entertaining as the story.

But I thought his beard only ate monsters ;_;

Oh Watchman

I pitched an idea to Alan Moore where Rorschach goes on a roadtrip and learns the magic of friendship, hugs, sunshine and things that are cute

He's much happier at the end of it and decides to stop being gloomy and angry all the time. He and Nite Owl get ice cream and go surfing at one point

Alan Moore will no longer answer my phone calls :csad:

Seeing as how this will obviously take place before the law that bans vigilantes, they can do really anything they want and it wouldn't be out of character. Comedian and Rorschach are the only two characters that you cannot really expect to act differently unless it is Rorschach before he has that incident that makes him change and truly BECOMES only Rorschach. When he claims he was young and more naive.

Personally, and especially with Cooke doing it, I'd love to see a Minutemen miniseries. The first team of the Watchmen-world mythos.

Heh. I know. It'll be interesting to see how Moore reacts to this and also to see a lot of the backlash from the fans too. Watchmen was really good and I think it told what it needed to tell and it should be left alone.

Of course, these days people want sequels and prequels and whatever other madness.

There are some stories that just need to be left alone.

Yeah, I have no interest in this at all.

Unless its Watchmen Babies.

People who reuse old Steve Ditko Alan Moore ideas and enjoy them are one in the same.

Or Saturday Morning Watchmen

You know that if they made a Watchmen cartoon in the 80's it would have been exactly that. Considering what they did with Conan, Rambo, Highlander, and Robocop.

So after the success of the new 52 what does DC have planned? Maybe Watchmen prequels.

Usually I would have instantly dismissed this but it's looks like Darwyn Cooke is heading the project. It can't really be all that bad, can it?
DC's been planning that for years.

Personally, I think it's kinda dumb simply cause all of the Watchmen characters are just the Charlton characters.

Why not do something new featuring the originals rather than focus on copycats whose sole purpose was to die in a very self-contained and resolutely ended book?

Which would be out of character.

IDC, they're nothing characters anyway, just rip offs because DC at the time wanted to do something with the originals. And anything Cooke does is going to be better than anything Moore could do.

Moore has had his moments and he's been great at times, but his best days are far behind him and I like Darwin Cooke's work better regardless.

Yeah basically I think he is overglorified in some ways. I thank him for doing a super smart comic in watchmen, but I wont go as far as saying he is the absolute best and that he can do no wrong. His work has become this sex obsessed almost depraved thing. Lost girls was almost like some weird fetish and I just dropped league of extraordinary gentlemen when Mr Hyde rapes the invisible man to death. Im sorry but thats just garbage. He has also gone a bit too "get off my lawn"-ish in recent years for my own taste.

Darwyn Cooke is nice for sure.

So...anyone notice Maximas alien redesign? Not so hot anymore...atleast from the SG cover.

I like his work on The League of Extraordinary Men, but that scene was really bizarre
