DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 6

I just want to see how these new characters that have always seemed like homages (at best) or rip-offs (at worst) of important characters are going to affect those I care about.

What is wrong with what hippie said? The new series has made him like Stormwatch, but he doesn't feel the need/desire to read the previous series. It's interested in them because they are part of the DCU now. I'm in agreeance with him with that title and other titles that are new to me that were originally from Vertigo and WildStorm

For example: I've fallen in love with Animal Man in the New 52, but I feel like they have told me enough about the character in 2 issues that I can understand and enjoy. People can tell me "check out the amazing older series" but as of right now I don't want to put my time into that because I have so many things I'm still in the process of catching up on. So that's part of why I don't plan to check out the previous runs. So if I do check out Animal Man from years ago, it wouldn't be til a good while from now.

Who knows? Maybe hippie has the same or similar reason. Or maybe he flat out doesn't care to. I'm halfway between the two. Could also be monetary stuff.

Anyone who wouldn't want to read good stories can suck it.

Trusty is pretty much saying everything I feel. I have so much stuff that I am currently working on completing: John Rogers/Matthew Sturges' Blue Beetle, Kurt Busiek's Avengers, Peter David's Aquaman, Grant Morrison's Animal Man, Mike Grell's Green Arrow, Denny O'Neil's the Question, Devin Grayson/Jay Faerber's Titans, Dan Jurgens' Teen Titans, and George Perez's Wonder Woman. Adding WildStorm to that list? Especially since I kinda look at 90's Image stuff that WildStorm is heavily tied into, with a bit of disdain. I'll pass.

I loved the ending to the arc where Ares ends up crying over the destruction that he would cause, see that there would be no one left to worship him, and then tasked Wonder Woman to save mankind from themselves. So damn brilliant.
