DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 8

I don't like the implication that Darkseid is going to return, suggesting that Final Crisis didn't happen, or happened differently (and, by consequence, changing one of the most awesome elements of Morrison's Batman arc).
That was already said before, in fact, it's possible that they may have Batman's moment from Final Crisis in Justice League 6.

Can you link me?

That wouldn't make chronological sense, since the events of Morrison's Batman run could not have taken place five years ago. I don't see that happening.

Final Crisis has been retconned away Saint. The New Gods are all back and so is Darkseid. He's been referenced as still being alive in OMAC and all the New Gods of Apokolips and presumably New Genesis are back too

Personally I'm glad about that. Hated Death of the New Gods, Countdown and Final Crisis. Killing off the New Gods was a terrible idea :csad: :down

I'm going to cry if Final Crisis didn't happen. Change it a little if you want, but leave it be mostly, you DCE meanies. :(

Final Crisis allways seemed interesting, but didn't most hate it? I see people here saying over and over again how much they hated it, but some seem to have liked it huh? It seems like an interesting read

I liked Renee Montoya's role in it and I liked Superman Beyond 3D

But I hated DC killing off Jack Kirby's creations. The New Gods were a great concept and Barda, Mr Miracle, Knockout, Orion and the Female Furies were characters I loved :csad:

I hated that DC killed them all off in some event comic. It was even worse that most of the deaths happened in the utterly awful 'story' Countdown and its tedious and terrible tie ins and pointless mini series

So I'm glad the awful on a waffle that was Countdown and Death of the New Gods has been retconned at least

Don't cry Llama :csad:

Great Morrison wrote it as if you were "channel surfing" through the story; only catching quick glimpses of moments and events before switching to something entirely different without any introduction or set up.

That's why people both love and hate it.

Personally, I didn't like it. The story itself seems really awesome, but the writing style was way too confusing and jarring.

I liked Final Crisis, well, what i could understand from it. I think Morrison tried to be too complex with the story structure, and in the end it ruined my enjoyment of the story, which in concept was good imo.

YOu do know that Kirby originally wanted to kill them right?
In fact that was going to be his end for the New Gods saga, but DC interveened and didn't allow that.

Besides, the New Gods were revived on Earth Kirby along with OMAC and Kamandi. We're suppose to see them in Multiversity.

I loved everything in the story penned by Morrison. However Superman Beyond should've been a part of the main story. I had no trouble understanding the story either, to me, it is the definition of :awesome:.

Annihilation is still better though...

And I agree Superman Beyond should have been part of the main story.

Annihilation had an outer space lesbian with an energy sword riding a psychic dragon into battle

A psychic dragon who was also her girlfriend

That automatically makes it better than almost every story ever

Really? I read that and didn't spot her.

She's in the panel when the Talon drops from Wayne Tower and crashes into a parked car. She's standing next to the car.
It's a small panel though, so it's easy to miss it, as she's not as blatantly pictured as in previous issues.

Women need to get **** the hell over it.

If we guys can stand seeing Batman and Superman with painted on suits that pretty much show everything but their bells and tackle, women can put up with some goddamn cleavage and a few refrigerator-based murders.:o

And the author of the article must have never been around in the 90's. Marvel's Swimsuit issues anyone? :oldrazz: They sold like hot cakes back then...every fanboy was salivating at Mary Jane in a skimpy bikini.

I wonder if DC or Marvel or any comic companies ever read articles like these

I only read up to the end of part two of her argument and gave up. She sort of says woman show off their clevage moe than men take off their tops. When I walk through the malls and supermarkets I see more clevage than nake man torsos. Where is the argument? She wants them to wear spandex? Is that going to protect them more than not wearing it? It's spandex!

I agree with her in theory that women shouldn't be objectified but I also think women take too much out of it really.

They are in comics that are mainly aimed at teenage boys, if you're not a teenage boy (I'm a 25 year old boy) then technically you're not in the demographic it's aimed at.
