DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 9

That ship has sailed, I think. Even if the big 2 wanted to exercise more strict editorial control at this point, I doubt they could. The big names they've attracted by basically saying, "Hey, you can do whatever you want!" are too accustomed to it to deal with another Shooter-esque, iron-fisted editor breathing down their neck to change stuff because of little things like established personalities or contradicting what one of their colleagues just did a month ago.
Eh, I don't think giving the big names too much power is really DC's problem, at the moment.

The real issue with them seems to be inexperienced editors unnecessarily ****ing around with the smaller creators and smaller books.

Good thing I have given up Supes comics... for now anyway. Ugh.
So Smallville is well written, but you refuse to read Grant Morrison's Superman?

...yeah. :o

No need for the sarcasm. I mean, really? Why? :whatever:

I said the Smallville comics were better than the show, and that's all I said.

But no, I'm not reading new Supes comics. The reboot and events afterward completely turned me off. If that's a problem to you, well I can't help it. I won't apologize for that.

Them you'll continue to receive a plethora of sarcasm, so you might as well get used to it now, sister. :o

Yeah, well I don't understand it. So please, ignore my posts if you feel that I'm stupid. Because that's basically the vibe I'm getting from you.

If you can't respect my opinions without mocking me, you aren't worth responding to.

Hah, someone has esteem issues. :o

I'm crying on the inside. I really am.

I never use ignore. Cuz when you do so, the person you ignored posts simply pop up in spoiler tags, and as we all know, spoiler tags are the devil. You'll go into every thread and see a post by this person, and feel compelled to look. Maybe they're talking about you in those posts you can't see but can if you would only.....click on them.....cuz it taunts you.....beckons you to look.......or whatever. Maybe that's just me. :o

What's worse is that anytime anyone quotes the ignoree, the ignorer can see it.

So be sure to quote me as much as humanly possible, k?

uh oh better call the hounds, GMA uses stupid wording and people are already getting their pitchforks sharpend about Supes dating the Wonder of the world.

From Rob Liefeld on his departure from DC:
My greatest triumph at DC was getting an inept editor fired. From that point on that I had put a target on me. Next guy wanted to show me.

Even if it meant standing up for mediocre talent that phoned his work in and missed deadlines by a mile.

And in case you are counting, I haven’t missed a deadline on a non-ensemble assignment in 4 years. Hit all my marks.

Did anyone else do 13 consecutive comics since the 52 launched? I’m out of the loop. HD #1-8, Dstroke #9-12,0
Funniest part is every week, with every new “direction” or “adjustment” from editorial, I’d be like, are U really giving me this much GOLD??
Gotta give the man credit for this one if true that he managed to get rid of an inept editor and actually managing to do 13 consecutive issues on art which he was never able to do before.

Thank Grodd he's been fired from DC at last. DC characters everywhere are safe from pouches and horrifically deformed feet :o

Except he wasn't fired. He left for the same reasons that Paul Cornell left Stormwatch, John Rozum left Static Shock, and Gail Simone left Firestorm: awful editorial.

Don't forget George Perze and why he left Superman:cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

And Mark Waid.

And Greg Rucka.

And Ed Brubaker.

And Ed Brubaker.

Those guys left for different reasons. Waid left because DiDio is a prick, Rucka left because he wanted to do some different things, and Brubaker left because DC didn't give him any high profile jobs despite promoting him as one of their top writers while Marvel was giving him things like Uncanny X-Men and Captain America.

It's a bit different than incompetent editorial.

Um, if you piss off one of the best writers in the industry for no good reason, you're an incompetent editor, Chief.
