So who is everyone's most used created characters and what are their powers and weapons?,Oh and are they inspired by real super heroes/villains in any way?
Ive only made one character and her name is Jean X. I think her inspiration is obvious

Haven't played in months, but I'm downloading it again. Reading the news about the new power sets, armors and finally access to Lantern Logos, is getting me pumped.

I will have to create a new character though. RAAAAAGE!!!

I'm loving seeing live ps4 streams on Twitch and Ustream

I think Mental powers are my favorite, it is very satisfying to fling objects in all directions lol.

Only thing I don't like about the mental powers is visually,The effects coming out of the hands and forehead seems too much like Sorcery, would have been cool to just select items that you can use,I understand why it's done though and it makes sense for this game

Awesome,Can't wait to do mine,He'll probably be Zorro inspired and have gadgets but with powers like flying,Will be a modern Zorro though with maybe a hood and that badass trench coat

a page over was pretty awesome too.

Did they upgrade the graphical prowess since the game got released on PS4? I seem to suffer from the occasional frame rate stutter now.

yeah they did. mostly for the ps4 but they did say the pc would pick that up as well and a little bit of it on it ps3 but to the degree the other two would see.

Update 31 updated the graphics for PC and PS4 only. There was none for the PS3. Leveling revamp was for all 3 platforms.

My character is inspired by Green Arrow. You can probably guess what my powers, weapon and travel power are. :cwink:

All servers will be taken offline Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 2:45PM Pacific, to launch Game Update 31 and finalize preparations to launch DCUO on the PlayStation 4. Downtime is expected to last about 4 hours.

We apologize for the midday downtime, but we simply cannot wait to share this Game Update with all of our players.

Players may notice the following changes:

Art Update!
·In preparation for DC Universe Online’s release on PS4, we did a considerable amount of work polishing and adding additional detail to all environments raising the visual fidelity for PC and PS3.
·Pillars of Hades in the Robinson Park area of Gotham City have been altered to better fit the landscape and fiction of the area.
·Centennial Park has been updated to show the destruction caused by S.T.A.R. Labs ships crashing into the park. This change was made to better reflect the fiction of the area.
·Little Bohemia Queensland Boardwalk floating platforms in Metropolis have been lowered to make them more accessible to Superspeed and Acrobat characters.
·Added additional environment effects in Gotham City and Metropolis.
·Fixed environment art bugs throughout the game.

Leveling Content Update!
·Players should no longer find themselves without a mission when completing leveling content.
·We now guide players to level 30 better, by giving them the most important missions first and then granting missions that are relevant to their Combat Rating.
·Missions granted at level 30 are now chained to prevent players from receiving an unreasonable amount of missions at once when they reach level 30.
·Reduced the amount of experience required to reach levels 8 through 29. Players within this range may log in and find their level increased. The experience required to reach level 30 remains unchanged.
·We did a pass on leveling content NPCs, removing abilities that seemed unfair and updating abilities and visual effects where needed. Weaker enemies in leveling content may now use attacks that are vulnerable to block or interrupt and can be countered. However, weak enemies still cannot inflict counters on you and only have vulnerability to counter mechanics.
·The level of enemies in the three final episodes has been reduced.
·Updated leveling content with new icons and made an icon consistency pass to improve messaging.
·Fixed leveling content bugs.

Mainframe Update!
·Henchmen/Back-Up and Sidekicks/Accomplices are now available as soon as you gain access to your Base and Mainframe.
·Cost Reduction
oThe cost of gaining access to a Sidekick/Accomplice has been reduced to 5 Marks of Triumph for the initial rank and 20 Marks of Triumph for the final rank. The cost of boosting remains unchanged.
oThe cost of gaining access to Henchman/Back-Up has been reduced to 10 Marks of Triumph for the initial rank and 40 Marks of Triumph for the final rank. The cost of boosting remains unchanged.

Player Rewards Update!
·Players that defeat a boss or sub-boss will get their own loot that is separate from other players’ loot, meaning players will instantly receive their loot and will no longer roll against other players. This includes items that are not guaranteed to always drop such as Research and Development plans or Utility Belts. Some players may receive these items from a boss, while others might not. It is important to note that items dropped from regular non-boss NPCs are not included in these changes, and will be rolled on by the group as they did previously.
·Races now only award experience for Platinum awards.
·Research and Development introduction plan items are now level 8.
·Marks of Triumph are now awarded for completing the following content:
oAlert completion missions for:
oALERT: Area 51
oALERT: Bludhaven
oALERT: Gorilla Island
oALERT: HIVE
oALERT: Oolong Island
oNo Laughing Matter
oThings That Go BOOM
oCompleting level 30 Bounty and Wanted missions the first time (from the posters) in Gotham City and Metropolis still award the original item. All subsequent completions -and the mission granted when engaging the bounty- rewards 1 Mark of Triumph and Cash.
oBounty and Wanted mission equipment reward level and stats were increased to 30.
oCompleting level 3 -30 leveling content Side Missions, including single and multi-stage versions, in Gotham City and Metropolis now award 1 Mark of Triumph.
oMain Story leveling content Missions
oCompleting the last mission of an episode now awards a Mark of Triumph and a sample marketplace consumable item in addition to its regular rewards. Exceptions to this are:
§Watchtower and Hall of Doom Tours now award a case of 5 Marks of Triumph.
§Completing the first mentor mission featuring Superman vs. Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman vs. Circe or Batman vs. the Joker, now awards a case of 5 Marks of Triumph and a sample marketplace consumable item in addition to its regular rewards.
§"Religion of Crime" mission line now awards a case of 5 Marks of Triumph and a sample marketplace consumable item in addition to any other rewards.
§Completing the final mentor mission awards a case of 10 Mark of Triumph and a sample marketplace consumable item.

Trust me on this, the Devs mention that the hi-res graphics from U31 were only meant for the PC & PS4. They mention it a few times in a couple of webcast before U31 was release. What they did for the PS3 from U31, was adjusted the graphics to reduce lag. The PS3 cannot handle the hi-res graphics.

Sometimes all it takes is a graphical improvement to make a game feel new. DC Universe Online has to keep its graphics at a level the PlayStation 3 can use, but with the pending release of the PlayStation 4, the game is going to be able to offer better textures and lighting all around. You can check out a preview video past the break to see what the game will look like with the visual upgrades.

But that's not the only thing coming along with the new patch; in order to ease new players on the PS4 into the game, the game's early leveling has been revamped and improved and several areas have had environmental details and quest flow updated as well. So experienced players can enjoy looking at a world in greater detail and new players will find it easier than ever to get into the game. That seems like a pretty solid update. Continue Reading

Anyways it's no problem. I trust ya. And I did say it wasn't to the same degree as the pc and ps4. So in a way what I said still counts. ( technically speaking) All these current/ latest updates were ment and made more focused to the latter two then they were for ps3. It's all it means.

The devs definitely fudged something up. My framerate seems to have been permanently cut in half. Even with everything set to low, that didn't change. Luckily there was simple fix. Turning V-Sync off in-game, and forcing it on through your graphic card's control settings.

Are you on the pc or the ps3 ? Sounds like your on pc, but I would just like to know.

By having the in-game V-Sync on, you lock(cripple) yourself to 30FPS. Playing on the PC you have to turn off V-Sync, in-game. And use your video card control settings. I never understand why the Devs had the default settings, set like that for the PC. Guess they wanted us to suffer with our PS3 players. :oldrazz:

It may have been cause it was easier for them to program for both some how the pc and ps3 at the time . Since they had it playable for both platforms nearly from the jump. It's the only thing that makes sense other wise it's as you say. It was a poor chose in hindsight. But it may have been due for allowance of the ps3 to run it and port easy to it.

It's just a weird decision. Months ago when I played the game, that wasn't an issue. But with that new game update, they added that fps lock you mentioned.

The FPS lock was there since launch. It's the gradually graphic improvements through updates. What video card are you running?

this was put up from last night

They gave a free month of Legendary to anyone who has paid for it in the past. I'm going to use this opportunity to get some trophies. :yay:

so if I buy any DLC on the PS3 version, what happens if I download the PS4 version later on?

would I have to rebuy the DLC for the PS4 version?
