DC Universe Online - Part 2

Are you on the US PC?

No, US PS3....and now it looks like I won't be needing help. On my first try today, I beat Brother Blood with ease.

What the hell was I doing different last time?

Have you leveled up since then? Sometimes that's the difference between a frustrating fight and an easy one.

Honestly, I'm getting more and more "inclined" to believe that these games get easier and easier to play. I found ourselves having the same issue with the Oolong Island instance..we all died (4 of us) at this one part, because about 15 of those friggin guys that shock the ground would spawn, and the scientists would take forever...by the third time, we went in..and only a few spawned and it became the easiest thing ever.

I honestly wouldnt' be surprised if that was encoded in the game..to ensure that every player is ALWAYS progressing further.

It sucks because I honestly feel that mentality from a business standpoint is great, but from a gaming standpoint only hurts it.

It's not the only game that I've heard that has been made easier, WoW did the same, skyrim apparently. It just isn't "challenging."

It's one reason why I think FPS and Online PVP style games really will have the edge.

Nope, I was the same level, though I did master two new combos I bought with points, and I took 12 soder cola with me.

Those two skill points might have boost your stats up.

So, where can I go to find like, A LOT MORE style items? All the vendors I go to, don't really have a lot of stuff. I haven't even half of the stuff you can choose from when you're creating a character. What do I have to do, or where do I have to go to find more purchasable stuff?

Also, can you replay missions or boss fights?

The training room in the Watchtower where Beastboy is located has most of the items you find in the character creation screen. Masks, capes, arm and leg wear, etc. There's also the Broker room which has weapon styles as well as armor for your character but a lot of the stuff there are REALLY expensive. Another way of getting new styles is by collecting and completing investigations around both cities. The items will come via mail.

Yep. Also if you replay them a certain amount of time you'll get different loot.

So how can you replay them? Is it an option in the menu?

so.. if one were to buy a new disc, how far would they be behind in being able to access cool powers.. how much extra 'stuff' do you have to purchase to advance to the higher levels of content?

I not sure about your question. You don't have to buy any discs, DCUO is free to download. The only extra powers you would have to buy to access is Fight for the Light DLC for Hard Light and the (hopefully) soon to be released Lightening Strikes DLC with Electricity powers. You don't have to buy anything using real money to advance to higher levels. You do need to buy Tiered Armor using in-game money and marks to do better in raids and alerts and stuff. Oh, also, the DLC comes with extra raids and such, so yeah, you need to buy them to get that content.

So how can you replay them? Is it an option in the menu?
just return to the location and the yellow ring will be there that lets you enter. also you will notice some feats you didn't get from other mentor's missions. just get a friend or shout for help to get into "scarecrow" or "grodd" for instance. or whatever the fights you didn't do. you will then have to group up and let the person helping you enter the location first, then the yellow ring appears for you and you can enter. so make sure you follow them to the location, because once they get inside you will have trouble finding the place if you have never been.

Anyone else think it's lame that stuff you find with one character doesn't pass over when you make a new one? I tried making two characters today, and couldn't get exactly what I wanted because the selection for creating a character is so low....

Some notes on the DLC 2 Webcast:

  • DLC launches in the US on Tuesday 12/6...later in EU (not sure date)
  • New marks will be introduced with the DLC...Marks of Momentum...that will be used to purchase everything from T 2.5 Armor, Trinkets, a special ring trinket with nifty tricks, Epic rings and and necks, "Static" Weapons and other items.
  • The new T 2.5 armor will be based off of Black Lightning for Heroes and Professor Zoom for Villians
  • The static weapons will share procs with other group/raid members who also have static weapons equiped
  • No free power-type respec tokens with DLC2. Power-type respec tokens WILL be available at a later date (likely for purchase on Market Place)
  • New T 2 Duos coming
    • One T2 Duo will involve going back in time to be involved in Flash's origin (both heroes and villains...heroes to help Flahs...Villians need to protect Flash to make sure Professor Zoom comes to be)
  • New Bounties will be available that include The Rogues, The Top, Static, and others. The new bounties will work differently then others. Targets will spawn in a larger area and will despawn after a time to respawn in a different area (making them harder to find). /Shouts will be important for finding bounty targets.

I love doing the wanteds/bounties. Glad they are adding more. We should go after all the top heroes/villains. Like superman and the joker.

How many updates does the game have and how long are they??,When I first bought it a few months after it got released..I had like 4 updates and it literally took me about 5 hrs with the updates&installing! Now with all the changes&stuff..I bet it has 16 updates and it'd take me almost two full days literally to finish the updates&installing(I have a habit of deleting my saved data when I get rid of a game)!

Didn't know that this game was free on the PSN so i downloaded it today and man was it a pain. First i had to wait 5 and a half hours for it to download then i the game was stuck on a loading screen for like another half hour and then i spent another 20 minutes fighting the game for a name i am sure no one in the world besides me could have chosen then i had to wait for 800 people to start playing before i did. Was all the pain worth it? HELL YES!!!!

On a whim tonight I decided to buy the two DLC packs for this and play for a bit. I'm really liking the shock powers so far. :yay: I may get back into this a bit, though I fell off so hard I feel like I probably couldn't jump back into my main character and do well with him again, I've forgotten all my strategies.

The new weapons from the flash dlc are 103 dmg. what is the current highest damage dps weapon stat. I was told in game it was 113. Is that true?

Just got the new dlc. Did all the wanteds and the duo. The duo I queued in with a random. We easily burned through it. the wanted took a while to find the spawn points. Only captain cold put up a fight. The rest we were just too over powered. We had 1 healer 1 controller and the rest were dps. Anywhere from 6 to 7 people. I love doing wanteds and these are fun. The powers are cool and the characters are cool villains to fight. Always felt like the villains had the better wanteds. They had cool heroes to fight. The hero side has a couple of obscure villains. This time I feel like the heroes get some cool wanteds. Weather wizard I did with 1 healer and me dps and 1 random dps strolled in and tried to get credit. We downed him pretty fast. We didn't died either.

If you are wondering whether to get this dlc or not be warned. you have to have a combat rating of 53 to gain access to central city. So don't expect to get there just when you hit 30.

I somehow missed the memo that you only unlock trophies if you have Legendary status, which sucks. I know trophies are useless but I like getting them, and getting to 30 with my second character and not popping the two trophies I should have gotten was a big bummer.

They should really have a Premium+ membership for people who forked over the 60 dollars for the game initially.

Your CR has to be 68 or 69 to see the 113 weapons.
