The load screens are longer now. Have you let it sit there a while? It takes a lot longer than usual.

So I guess the next raid will be wonder woman ? Maybe we go to her island. just getting back into the game. Left after psn finally go back up. Was no new content so I left. Came back for gl content it was short and I left after a while. Now I came back for flash dlc. Also I never did the fos raids. I finally ran them today. They look awesome inside. Way better than batcave. I never liked the batcave raids. fos 3 is actually easy. Just 1 fight. You get lots of loot from it.

Yeah I ran FOS 3 the other night. Glorious.

The Flash DLC is definitely one of my favorite bits nowadays though. He's always been my third fave DC character and electric powers are really fun. I created a new character called Red Surge and already have him up to 30. The new bounties are great and Flash's rogue's gallery get to shine - he's always had cool villains.

WW being next could be likely. I'm pulling for a Green Arrow DLC down the line as well personally.

And the detail in the new Christmas download is nicely done.

Wish they'd fix Larfleeze/Agent Orange though. His head is pretty much a white block, Haha.

Been awhile since I've been on the Hype in general, let alone this thread, but just checking, DCUO went free to play?

So I just pop the game in my PS3, let it update and I can play despite having let my subscription go? Just checking since I don't want to let it update for hours to find out it's not.

Yup and since you paid for it in the past, you are automatically a Premium member. Which gives you some extra perks over the standard Free membership. :cwink:

Thanks. Tried it after work just a bit ago. 2,000 limit is semi annoying, but I can't complain since I'm not paying a subcription fee. Also have a rename card from a server merge apparently. Got a _TKJ added.

Yeah, they merged into two mega-servers before they went f2p. I still haven't logged in with two of my characters to get the sever label out of their names.

the 2k limit sucks when raiding. even without dying just repairing after battle. I don't even bother using the broker or looking at it.

Yeah I always loved the wanteds. I was hoping they would add more. I always felt the villain side ha funner bounties. Now atleast the hero side has some better wanteds. Full house the judge kordax nepheritos. wanteds like these are not fun. I don't know them. I think they should add lex the joker xerxes. And the same to villain side. Wonder woman batman and superman.

I was happy to see bizarro got an upgrade in fos 2. I was so used to the low level wanted version.

I'm remembering how much of a grind it is to get Tier armor. I don't even have the full T1 set yet (though I do have one T2 piece thanks to the 30 marks they gave out for the "Survived the Outage" quest... which I also somehow redeemed twice for my main character, shhh).

I had most of the Tier 1 mixed with Tier 2 armor, but doubt I'll take it any further. I already quit, so really have no desire to renew a subscription, and 2k money limit really is a pain when trying to do a long raid.

So I plan to just mess around from time to time. Fly my capped characters through the cities and enjoy a little PVP, make new characters, and enjoy Holiday events from time to time.

Whenever I complete my new comp I plan on picking up The Old Republic, so this can just help tide me over for awhile.

Long a** updates&downloads,I got rid of the game long ago and now got it back cause of the free play,The main update took only 20 min and that surprised me cause when I first got the game it took me 5 hrs and I deleted all my saves..But I'm at the installing section and it's been 3 hrs and it's only at 14%&6,457 MB to go!!!!

Does it go fast when at 6,000/less or will it take VERY slow the whole time??,IF I cancel and do it again tomorrow..Will it take hrs again from the beginning or will it load up to where I stopped??

Well ya can download and play it for free so there's not a huge risk other than time.

Downloading now:]Are the DLC packs worth it?

It depends how much you want electricity or green lantern powers. You won't be able to do any of the additional missions, etc... until end game.

Since you're just starting, no, don't buy them. Play the vanilla game and see if you like it enough to spend money on the DLC and grind for the end game armor needed to enjoy the content.

you need a combat rating of 53 to enter central city so if you are just starting out you won't get that till you are raiding. that is after you grind out t1 alerts for t1 armor.

DC Universe Online giving players a little more R&D

There's nothing like a little crafting to spice up a game. In the wake of what appears by all accounts to be a successful free-to-play transition, DC Universe Online is giving players a new way to enjoy a little crafting in the form of the Research & Development system. A preview of the system has just arrived, showing off how to get started as well as what can be uncovered by patient research.

Once a character hits level 10, he or she can begin to gather Exobits, which can in turn be forged together into Exobytes at R&D stations. Using plans either found in the world or bought from specialized vendors players can then combine Exobytes into equipment mods or consumables, both of which can help boost players beyond their current levels of power. The system is set to debut along with the other features of Game Update 8, so there's only a little more time until players can get their hands on the materials and see what develops.

DC Universe Online crafting goes live today with Game Update 8 (42 minutes ago)

It's patch day for DC Universe Online, and when the superhero title comes back up, denizens of Gotham and Metropolis will have a new research and development system to play with. The R&D mechanic is DCUO's answer to traditional MMO crafting, and characters at level 10 and above will want to head to either the Watchtower or the Hall of Doom for an introduction to the new mechanics.

The R&D system brings equipment mods and superior consumables to the game, and it's broken down into four major gameplay spheres: researching, gathering, salvaging, and collecting. Researching involves finding upgrade plans throughout the game world while gathering involves acquiring exobytes. Salvaging is all about turning items into crafting materials, and collecting hinges on getting drops from various boss mobs.

The new mechanics are free for all players via the game's eighth major update. The patch notes can be viewed on the official DCUO forums.
