Yup, I also think so.
Yea 100 million-ish would be perfect for this kind of film.
Yup, I also think so.
Logan got a lot out of 97 million and Leitch is big on practical stunts, so I'm interested to see what kinda stuff they'll do.
That's a pretty decent release date, imo. We haven't seen how Star Wars handles competition, so it will be interesting.
I think it's a stupid move. Why out it near competition?
I do t understand why move something toward competition. Even when the first was such a success.
I mean it's not gonna flop and I'm sure it'll be good. But I dont get why do this. If I had to guess it's to assure that Fox has at least 1 summer winner
To the point of having a ton of recorded original promotional material even outside of sponsorship commercials? You are projecting an incorrect concept of what is a gimmick because of your own bias. Your whole premise is that Deadpool himself is a gimmick, meaning there is nothing there at all. Which isn't true. Deadpool is a long established character with a following. Everything about the film fit that. Thus not a gimmick.
Deadpool being rated-R is not a gimmick. Expectations of lesser money shows it isn't a gimmick. That would defeat the purpose of the gimmick. Unless you think they were trying to make less money... If we get an R-rated Superman flick, that will be a gimmick. Its like Feige mentioning no R-rated Marvel flicks, because it doesn't fit. Making one would essentially be a gimmick.
Also something simply being "unconventional" is not a gimmick. But if you want movies that commit to that level of marketing Disney does it multiple times a year. Same for WB. They simply do it in more conventional ways. But look at the campaign BatB just put on.
Fox doesn't want their movies to have legs.
Like it honestly consistently seems to be part of their plans.
I think it can depending on its competition. IWs will probably still be in some theaters at that time too. That movie is considered an event so as long as it makes money it will be staying around. One month. If it can't last that long, that's the end of it.
I don't know why anyone would be surprised about it moving out of the winter and into the summer? I expected this and it's a sequel to a 360 million-dollar well-received film, it's going to do fine as long as it doesn't have a huge drop in quality.
