Deadpool Deadpool Discussion- SPOILER WARNING!!

I immediately thought of the Black Knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

It's been a long since a movie had me in tears of laughter, that one scene with Colossus broke the drought. The level of absurdity just kept getting elevated. :funny:

I really
Enjoyed the film! Loved the comedy. Piss take of any other superhero film... I like it as a stand alone cannon ad who doesn't love Ryan Reynolds! Love him! Great movie 9/10

Absolutely loved the movie. So funny and well done. The 4th wall stuff the action, the heart. Incredibly well done kudos to Reynolds and all involved. They nailed it.

Did I miss something cause the nude scene that I kept hearing about and sitting on faces blah blah blah never seemed to really happen. He was nude fighting but nothing was seen and I feel like no naked butt/face interaction happened.

As a long time Deadpool fan this film was pure PERFECTION

I was shocked by how gory and violent it was. When we got the first decapitation, that kind of took me by surprise. Like whoa, this definitely isnt following X-men's lead

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but on my rewatch I saw that Ryan Reynolds wears a BEA ARTHUR t-shirt in his first scene.

And the Coat Vanessa wears at the end is Wades coat.

And WHAM!

There wasn't any reference to Logan's DNA in Deadpool movie.
Just simple serum, taken by everybody in Ajax's project, not even word about 'Weapon X'.
MEH...

Could be better, so 8/10.

Saw this last night and I went in with very low expectations. But I was surprised how much I liked it. I can't ****ing stand Deadpool in the comics anymore and how annoying he's got. The guy is everywhere and I thought this movie was going to further contribute to my annoyance with the character but surprisingly, I am totally on board with film Deadpool. And God help me, it made me want to pick up a Deadpool comic again.

The biggest criticism is that this movie said it wasn't your average super hero movie but then the love interest just got captured and Deadpool had to save her. Uh... okay.

But a few other things aside, the thing that stuck out to me most was just the amount of heart this had. The writers really smartly stuck to some traditional writing to make that romance work and it really did. It's the core of Wilson's motivations and all the way to his origin story, it really, really works where you just buy into everything where it feels one with even the ridiculous tone. The humor and uniqueness works because it is a result of the solid fundamental story the writers installed. Not the other way around which I was worried about. I just thought this movie would only take the most superficial things about Deadpool (the irreverent humor, the fourth wall breaking) and just say, "This is unique and funny RIGHT?!" But I was glad to have been proven wrong on all accounts. This movie works for all the right reasons, even if you don't laugh at all the jokes (I laughed many of them) there's at least a concrete story there to be invested in.

I'm just glad this movie is good because it's good AND it's different. Not the other way around. It goes to show audiences still love comic book movies but they also love something different too if the movie is good. This movie deserves all the success it's getting. I'm very happy for Reynolds where it proves this was indeed his vehicle for all these years and it's finally paid off for him.

Five comic book movies coming out this year. One of them is not going to be good. It's a numbers game. And I thought this was the one that had the biggest chance of being that. But now I guess that leaves BVS. 8/10 and I want to see it again. I never thought I'd say that.

Loved the Ferris Bueller post-credits scene.

I saw this last night and really loved it with very few issues.

I didn't like that Colossus wasn't shown in his normal form.

Lastly, like with some of the MCU movies, the villain was kind of a throw away character.

I haven't seen it yet. Did Hugh Jackman make an appearance? I heard rumours that he would.

Yes. Twice. Reynolds hinted Fox didn't want to pay Jackman to make a real cameo.

This was so ****ing hilarious. I thought Deadpool's schtick might get annoying after a while but I'm glad to see they managed to make it work. The story was pretty basic though, but still it was a lot of fun and had heart.

And I absolutely loved seeing the X-Men in a more relaxed, fun environment, actually teaching young students and being a team. The new uniforms are just gorgeous. We need another team movie set in present times soon. Dammit Fox, just give me that New Mutants movie now :argh:.

Saw it today in IMAX, just wow, it was everything they said it would be and everything I thought it would be. Since they included the X-Men I was wishing for more characters but they pretty much told us why we got just 2 hahaha.

Reynolds was perfect in every single scene, every line, what more can you ask for? He can pop up in any X-Men movie now after Apocalypse seemingly, add Cable, possibly New Mutants & X Force and you got a hell of a universe going with the X properties at Fox.

Imagine what a event film would be between those 3/4 properties if you add in Gambit, Deadpool, XMen, New Mutants, X Force they could possibly bring back Apocalypse.

The baby hand was bloody brilliant.

Negasonic's X-Suit proved they can look good in live action and don't need to be muted.

I've seen it twice. Audiences loved it. I really liked it too.

I think, from the point of view of its connection to the X-franchise, I'd have preferred if Colossus looked even just a little bit closer to the Cudmore version rather than such a radical departure. It was just a bit jarring.

Also, calling Carano's character just Angel (in the film) bugged me. Aren't there enough Angels in this franchise? Angel in X3, Angel Salvadore in First Class, Angel/Archangel in Apocalypse. I would have preferred if another superstrong female character was used, to be honest. Or refer to her fully as Angel Dust, at least.

Negasonic's powers were clearly replaced with those of Cannonball (who was intended to be in the film at first, I believe). It worked in making the Warhead part of her name make more sense. The costume looked great, the actress was great too.

I'm glad Wolverine wasn't in it, I didn't even like the references to the character, it felt like the studio just can't let go of him. Deadpool just didn't need it.
