Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 1

I think that'd be a great way to reintroduce the modern X-Men in the film. The people who say her uniform looks like Kitty's Astonishing uniform could be on to something for sure, as Colossus could really just fill in the gap as to what the X-Men became post-DOFP as he tries to get NTW back and cross paths with Wade. It'd also be a way for Wade to get connected to say, the X-Force? If Colossus is gonna be part of the roster.

I had doubts about this universe building thing with Kinberg at the helm, but this could be an awesome yet non-obtrusive way to lay out some groundwork of this newly expanded universe.

1) She is super cute.

2) Oh my God, that outfit! :mrk:

Damn this movie is knocking it out the park in terms of costume design. This is probably the best X outfit seen so far on film (Deadpool apart of course), more of this please Mr Singer!!

So what do you think about the other pics? Am I the only one who doesn't just want to discuss the X-men movie suits and the possibilities of the X-men cinematic universe?

No love for Wade & Ness, Weasel vs Angel Dust and Ajax?

Well their pics don't excite me.... I really want to see "Copycat" and not just Vanessa.

They do excite me. Not everything has to be tied to something geeky to stir up interest. The production design looks promising, and I really like the atmosphere in the pics. I like that Vanessa is not a mutant in the script, and even before (reading it) I always thought they should present her as just Vanessa in a movie. What matters is that they were in love and he left to not have her carry the baggage of his cancer. That's really the center of the relationship to me. And to Reese and Wernick, as well, it seems. The fact she has powers wouldn't really add much to this story, and I could care less about the greater context of the X-Men universe. I'm looking forward to THIS movie, and to see Wade's story, and his fight against Ajax.

She's just Vanessa in the script, this has been said a hundred times. Is Copycat really a character people are desperate to see fully realized on screen?

Angel Dust looks okay but her and Ajax are underwhelming IMO.

I like that they're keeping it grounded, and that it's not a weird costume and creature fest. "Deadpool" should be old school action with a twist, and appeal to a broader and more adult audience. The same guys who enjoyed "Lethal Weapon," "Die Hard," "Predator," "Total Recall," "The Last Boyscout," "RoboCop," "48 Hours," etc. Other than the obvious links and mentions it doesn't look like it caters heavily to the "X-Men" audience. And I like that. That's how it should be.
And besides that, being an arrogante a**hole is what defines Ajax. And he looks like one.

P.S.: Have you guys checked out the Pinterest profile on http://www.deadpoolswebsite.com? There are some funny Deadpool comments on guns, swords, Bea Arthur, Hello Kitty, brown pants and Chimichangas.

Anybody know if Karan Soni from Safety Not Guaranteed and the upcoming Goosebumps is in the film? If so, any idea who he's playing?

There's nothing listed on imdb or anything but Rhett Reese tagged him in a tweet yesterday with the rest of the main cast.

He might just friends with one of the writers or actors in it but he interacts with them on twitter and posted this on instagram when they finished shooting https://instagram.com/p/3SSKHEIEX0/

Edit just found this, guess he's playing "Dopinder" Don't know if he's in the leaked script or anything, dunno how big the role is but he got his own chair https://instagram.com/p/1gXrFYoEYT/?taken-by=itskaransoni

He's probably playing the cab driver then!

Well said. It annoys me when people talk about the future and cross overs etc. I remember a time when a movie was just a single movie, no franchises or sequels or cross overs were even brought up. I obviously don't mind this film tying into the greater X-Men movie universe, but i want it to stand completely on it's own. I want it to be completely free of restraints that inherently come with these inter connected universes. Deadpool should be the anti superhero film.

I too like the production design and atmosphere.

Yeah, we haven't even seen THIS movie yet. We haven't even seen a trailer. We finally get a first batch of stills from the actual movie, and all I see is talk about how Negasonic Teenage Warhead could be part of the 'New Mutants' and how future 'X-Men' movies should have suits like the one she wears in that picture. Huh?

It's not a huge role, but it's a fun one. He keeps popping up. The interaction between him and Deadpool is gold.

Tis strange.

Anyway i think Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead have been sent to end Deadpool's rampage on the freeway, basically. NTW probably tries to get into his mind and calm him down... that doesn't work and possible backfires. Who wants to be in Deadpools head lol. So Colossus has to do it the hard way.

I too find that there is far too much focus on the next movie or the next next and people more interested in how movies connect and reference others than on telling a good story for the movie at hand. It's why I avoid the Spider-Man section as its all about the MCU and not about the movie itself

With NTWs costume I just hope we get similiar costumes in New Mutants is all. I'm stoked to see this as its a Deadpool movie not because it might be a shared X-Men universe movie

I'm currently reading this article...

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/0...n?hootPostID=80394a533c3eddae5fadf761695db378

Director Tim Miller mentions the following:

"We have a very serious scene between Leslie Uggams and Ryan Reynolds where he’s holding a unicorn and ass-less chaps and a bottle of Jergens as he’s off to *********e because he didn’t get the bad guy.”

Sounds like our BLIND AL is LESLIE UGGAMS!

Saw a few articles mention Deadpool won't be schizophrenic in the film. And some commenters start plugging in their hate machines.

But this is a great thing. They are truly going for Joe Kelly's Deadpool with an eccentric personality and no cheesy disembodied voices.

I'd been assuming they were going this route ever since reading the leaked script, but it's such a relief to read the confirmation.

Plus I kinda get off on people who loved Daniel Way's version of Deadpool more than any having their hopes of seeing him on the big screen crushed. Time for them to get a lesson on what he's all about.

Haters gonna hate. I've never been a huge fan of Daniel Way's version of the character, and I'm glad that both the Brian Posehn / Gerry Duggan comic book run and the movie step away from his take on the character. Way to go (no pun intended)!

Can people stop posting script details without any spoiler code?

I don't think that's a spoiler as much as it is a warning to manage expectations. I would have appreciated if someone told me Deadpool would not be Deadpool in the Wolverine Origins film so that my excitement would not have been eviscerated in the way it unfortunately was.

Yeah, that's not ruining anything about the film. For Copycat fans it's better knowing that going in.

Those people have no idea what they are talking about. Very glad they didn't go that route.

So what if she's just Vanessa....
obviously they didn't rewrite the script... oh then why in the world is Teenage Warhead Negasonic suddenly in the film.

And obviously people prefer
mutants in the comics not to be a mutant
in their film version... good idea.

It's called adaptation. Sometimes you change things around for a movie, which still staying faithful to the core of the story you're adapting. Why's that so hard for people to grasp?

And of course the script has been rewritten, yet I don't think they changed Vanessa into being a mutant. Bets are on. Now. Just don't whine when she's just Vanessa.

Most comic purists and movies don't mesh together very well, I guess.

Well she is the character that I was looking forward to the most, so big massive letdown if she's
not a mutant.
