The best part was him claiming the film wouldn't even crack 60% on RT, when it's certified fresh at 86%.

It was pretty obvious this was gonna get a certified fresh rating regardless how disposable the other characters are.

86% I'm howling at the folks who wanted this to be a disaster.

The first half is a little disjointed and slow. There isn't really a strong central villain or antagonist. Francis in the first one wasn't great, but at least he was some type of adversary for Deadia pool to face.

I agree about the first half (just saw it). I like the ending though. Overall not quite as good as the first one.

When did he ever actually say that?

$

OK I never saw that thanks for sharing it. It's a little silly to have a grudge against Fox if you are a big MCU supporter.

Disney is buying Fox. Deadpool would more than likely be the only thing that remains if X-Men timeline gets nuked.

The man has never made sense.

There was also a poster on here stating that people would be disappointed due to poor screenings.

Was it.

Lost its director few months before shooting
Lost its composer
Stunt woman thing
late reshoots.
Its not Star Wars where people will give it a pass.

I think some people wanted this to get bad reviews because they wanted the narrative of Feige coming in and saving the Deadpool franchise too..:oldrazz:

I was hoping for somewhere in the 70's. It's a sequel featuring a character most considered a niche and not for everyone, it was introducing major new characters while setting up a team film, features crude humor which usually does not play well with critics, lost the Director from the first etc. It had plenty going against it.

As someone who has been following the rumors of a Deadpool film since Blade Trinity I couldn't be happier. Well done Reynolds :up:

HIGH FIVE!

Remember when Ryan Reynolds was up for Wally West, as well?

87% right now. Awesome score

Super pumped for tomorrow :word:

Wow so not only has this not dropped, the score has gone up. That's awesome!

I noticed that Infinity War's score didn't drop either, it premiered and hung around that same number. Why is that?

Simply because positive reviews kept coming in.

I don't really care about the score, but I'm glad it's getting great reviews and find this entire situation hilarious because of Jeremy Conrad. He must be fuming right now.

The score started at 91%, dropped to as low as 83%, and has crawled its way back to 87%. Very unusual for a film to crawl its way back, usually they hit high then gradually settle at a number several percentage points lower. But you don't see films often make a comeback like this.

You can typically get an idea of where a film like this is going to be based on its average score. For example on meta critic this film stayed around 68-70 as reviews were dropping and it's average on RT was about 7.2-7.3 which indicated it would stay in the 80s on RT.

I'm legit cackling because the dude was having a meltdown on Twitter when reviews hit. And then when reactions first came up for it on May 10th, he tweeted about waiting until the real reactions for it show up. Him and Viewer Anon. Wonder what happened to the latter dude.

I'm impressed that it went up, and that the average has held steady.

he hasn't said a thing since the critics reviews hit or the 87% on RT

RT scores for superhero movies usually drop once they hit the US release date. US critics are a bit more harsh.
