Joe got to be Deathstroke while Matt got another gig.

Principal villain, dude. Read the post properly before jumping all over it, eh?
Manganiello's fine for a sub villain, but he won't headline. This is why this casting is a bit of a disappointment. Manganiello being cast suggests Deathstroke won't be the headline villain, which I would have liked. He'll be in it, but he won't be the main threat.
...and by all means refer back to this post of mine as well at some point, if it makes you happy.
You know he's not the principal villain how? I juat think your attitudes se towards his casting is abit snobbish in all honesty. I love CBMs they're my favourite genre but they don't need a certain calibre of actor for every part.

I don't know what to feel about Deathstroke as the main villain of the Batfleck solo. I'm almost sure he'll be recruited by someone else pulling the strings from the shadows.
Make him the main physical threat and then let it go to personal stuff later on but there must be some big name villain with ulterior motives, plotting devious schemes to one up Bats.
They have already teased the death of Jason and established the Joker as a villain/lover in the DCEU. I strongly believe that Jared will be in the solo movie, Affleck and Johns won't lose this opportunity. With good writing, Jared can smash it outta the park.
Meh another lousy casting.
At this rate all the villains in the DCEU are going to be younger than old man Bruce.
You and I have a very different opinion on that then. I believe that when a high class of actor is employed, the chances are the movie itself will be of higher quality - see the Nolan trilogy. Joe Manganiello is a limited actor, and therefore I expect Deathstroke to be a limited performance, in both terms of acting and screen time.

Partially because Batman's in his 40's in this universe, and because I like playing up Deathstroke as being a twisted version of Captain America; a veteran hero from an American war still fighting decades past his supposed prime. A younger Deathstroke fits a younger DCEU, but I wnat someone who could actually look at Batman as a youngster just for the power that would portray.
Deathstroke being the primary villain would be dissapointing. I like Slade but he works best as part of an ensemble or contracted by another villain.
But knowing WB and Snyder they'll probably make him into a megalomaniac who wants to conquer the world.
