Deathstroke: Is he in Justice League? If so, who is playing him?

So who will email Bruce that Deathstroke teaser trailer in Justice League?

I'm hoping DS is saved for the Batman solo film. I'm already getting a bit tired of these cameos/teasers for future movies within a movie. That is if they're not executed very well. Or the movie surrounding that teaser isn't that great and I'd rather see that teased movie.

Principal villain, dude. Read the post properly before jumping all over it, eh?

Manganiello's fine for a sub villain, but he won't headline. This is why this casting is a bit of a disappointment. Manganiello being cast suggests Deathstroke won't be the headline villain, which I would have liked. He'll be in it, but he won't be the main threat.

...and by all means refer back to this post of mine as well at some point, if it makes you happy.

Meh another lousy casting.

At this rate all the villains in the DCEU are going to be younger than old man Bruce.

You know he's not the principal villain how? I juat think your attitudes se towards his casting is abit snobbish in all honesty. I love CBMs they're my favourite genre but they don't need a certain calibre of actor for every part.

Deathstroke being the primary villain would be dissapointing. I like Slade but he works best as part of an ensemble or contracted by another villain.

But knowing WB and Snyder they'll probably make him into a megalomaniac who wants to conquer the world.

Finally saw the costume.
I don't like the way his mask is designed.

You and I have a very different opinion on that then. I believe that when a high class of actor is employed, the chances are the movie itself will be of higher quality - see the Nolan trilogy. Joe Manganiello is a limited actor, and therefore I expect Deathstroke to be a limited performance, in both terms of acting and screen time.

I don't know what to feel about Deathstroke as the main villain of the Batfleck solo. I'm almost sure he'll be recruited by someone else pulling the strings from the shadows.

Make him the main physical threat and then let it go to personal stuff later on but there must be some big name villain with ulterior motives, plotting devious schemes to one up Bats.

They have already teased the death of Jason and established the Joker as a villain/lover in the DCEU. I strongly believe that Jared will be in the solo movie, Affleck and Johns won't lose this opportunity. With good writing, Jared can smash it outta the park.

Deathstroke ia a gun for hire. My guess is that Waller hires him because Bruce now leads the most powerful metas on Earth (the JL) so she goes about breaking that and reestablish her control of metas.

I bet Deadshot is going to have a small role in the Batman movie

Affleck is 44, Manganiello will be 40 in December. Hardly a massive difference.

Whether Deathstroke is the main villain in Batfleck Begins or not, I hope they have plans to spin him off into a solo film or in a team-up film (this might be the only thing that would bring me back for a Suicide Squad sequel). Granted, they could royally screw up this character, but I feel like Deathstroke is an easier character to get right than say, Aquaman. I hope we get some of his tragic backstory and he eventually toes the line between hero and villain.

Fair enough just a difference of opinion

That's what I reckon will happen, I still think it's gonna have the Joker in a big role.

That would be why he enjoys more cultural significance and recognition than The Joker, then.

If he is used as well as he was on Teen Titans and Arrow, we are in for a treat.

Partially because Batman's in his 40's in this universe, and because I like playing up Deathstroke as being a twisted version of Captain America; a veteran hero from an American war still fighting decades past his supposed prime. A younger Deathstroke fits a younger DCEU, but I wnat someone who could actually look at Batman as a youngster just for the power that would portray.

This. As you say, Deathstroke is more akin to Captain America than Batman (isnt Wolfman or Perez on record saying that was the idea?). I never got the whole 'dark version of Batman' thing tbh, as if that is anyone, that would be The Wrath.

This is my thinking too, and I think it's because DC / WB are trying to push the character. I'm very disappointing that he's probably going to be the sole villain of the Batfleck film though, not that I dislike the character or anything, it's just that I think there are other Batman villains they could use, that have more direct connection to Batman himself.

I think if Deathstroke does show up in JL, it'll just be in a cameo. Maybe he'll show up in the after-credits scene or something.

It's very unlikely that Deathstroke will be the only villain in Batman.
