The Devil May Cry anime's first eight episodes are written, and producer Adi Shankar is hoping for multiple seasons, confirming that Dante, Vergil and Lady will appear. Also: Chris Pratt will not voice any characters.

Was not expecting Bosch to voice Dante. So now he's voiced both Nero and Dante. If they were going to cast a new voice for Dante, having Bosch do it likely softens the blow a bit.

Anime is singular thing. Frankly, with what is considered "anime" nowadays, its a useless term.

You know, as “interesting” of a choice it is, it seems completely in character for Dante to listen to something like that on a whim just for the fun of it, so I can’t completely hate it for that.

Also, doing something “cool” but being so blatantly dumb and unserious about it that it circles back around to actually being cool is basically Devil May Cry’s modus operandi.

It is a bit jarring, but this is supposed to be a slightly alternate take on DMC, so I’m willing to give it a chance and listen to it within the context of the show to see how it works.

Reuben Langdon is hardly a spring chicken anymore, not to mention he drank the QAnon conspiracy Kool-Aid and is a total nut job nowadays, and replacing him with someone else would also draw about the same amount of pushback, so it’s kind of a lose-lose, “damned if you do, damned you don’t” type situation.

Aside from that, it seems to be having a lot fun and not taking itself too seriously, which is what makes the franchise work so well.
