I loved Dexter questioning the dark passenger and his own culpability
and now its been fillers, but with purpose...
Surely if these episodes have had purpose ie storyline progression then that makes them the opposite of fillers?
I've really enjoyed every single episode this season. I think it's gotten better and better. This episode was fantastic. It made me laugh "When I was 15 my parents thought I was a ******." It made me smile, "I think I love you too." and it had some fantastic tension between the arsonist, Hannah's father and LaGuerta and Matthews.
every episode of Dexter has had purpose. it is mostly a filler episode... the arsonist? come on. just because 10 minutes of a hour long show actually mean somthing doesn't change the fact that it was a filler.
Didn't Dexter get the Dark Passenger name back from when he was attending Rehab in season 2, I noticed Ghost Dad said he came up with it on his own. I'd need to go back and rewatch season 1 and 2 to see when it first popped up.
LaGuerta finally figuring it out doesn't have any punch to it cause for the past few seasons she just felt like a non-factor. Now the writers are putting her down this path with all her deducing and its not convincing. I'm just impatiently waiting for her to get there to see how Dex and Deb will react. So some people say its exciting while it just find it to be tedious.
This season is falling apart. It started well. Not great, but it felt dangerous again. It felt risky again. But after these last two episodes I don't know what the hell they're doing with it. Isaac, the Koshkas, Louis, the arsonist; all of those potentially interesting ideas just petered out. The next two episodes are going to have to pull off some amazing maneuvers to get itself out of this careening anticlimactic tailspin it's in.
