Pure speculation, but i think judging from next weeks promo, the conversation between Mathews and Dexter will be about how he knew what Dexter was all along because Harry told him before he died.

i wonder if the big reveal could be that it was Matthews idea to train dexter in the first place

I love that idea actually. I liked the idea of him knowing about it but it being his idea could an awesome revelation and provides some perspective on Harry's motivations after seeing Dexter. I doubt Matthews would be able to handle it either same as Harry. Could be really good if done right. All this stuff Matthews and Harry set into motion like 30 some years ago and everybody realizing that the blame falls more on their shoulders for having created Dexter in the first place. He could have been saved. If Harry had taught him to control it or suppress it instead of aiming it. Logistically speaking it's astounding Dexter can balance all the lives he leads as a killer, father and a very demanding job. I've honestly never been able to understand how he has the time to sleep or ever have any down time really but that's another discussion
