Dexter - Part 3

Man it just keeps getting better and better. I really wish I could watch it somewhere other than my phone. The scene with Dex flipping out and making fun of him on the table was pure Dexter black humor and I can't get enough of it.

The writers have really brought their A game this season and it shows. Seems like every episode they are knocking it out of the park and giving us fans what we want. The maze was brilliant and then Dex luring him into place by using his wits was on point. I seriously can't get enough of this show again and every week is just a wash until I can get my next fix.
For me at least this season's lack of predictablilty has been the best thing. I can't call the way anything is going to go at all. All I know is that bitter disappointment follows after each episode because like that other guy said, now we have to wait six more days to see the next one! :( :p

Still loving this season and last night was great (some AMAZING Dexter character moments), but I'm still shocked that the Louis storyline ended so abruptly last week with all loose ends tied up. That was all he was? All that the writers could get out of this character?

He essentially wound up as a way to allow the new Big Bad to discover Dexter's identity...even afer Louis' storyline started threading midway last season. Such a shame.

I think it's pretty obvious that the original plan wasn't to have Louis go out that way and yeah, I agree that it was a waste. :( I would have liked to see him get a better end than he had.

i wonder if
the dude in the pic with Isaak (cant think of his name), is Isaaks son, lover, or just a close friend. Also, judging from next weeks previews, it looks like Isaak may have his own set of kill tools.

Wasn't that just him with Victor?

This has been a stunningly AMAZING season so far. Which makes S6 and especially S5 all the more disappointing because, while they have their merits, they aren't at this level of enthralment. Oh well! Glad we've got this :)

Wasn't that just him with Victor?

thats what I mean, Viktor was clearly more than just a business partner to Isaak.

I mentioned him possibly being gay, because it looks like they may be taking a couple of notes from the books... in one book, dexter kills a guys lover, and he vows revenge... just tossing out ideas TBH.

In regards to Louis, I still don't think we are done with him. This may not have been part of the original idea... but maybe Louis hurts Dexter more dead than he did alive.

Why on earth wasn't anything even mentioned about it in this last episode, I don't know. But Louis is mentioned in next weeks episode preview. Curious how Dex even finds out he is dead... Isaak clearly told the guy to get rid of the body and all so I guess the blood is still on the boat and Dex finds it.

I must have missed that in the promo....

oh damn, i didnt even notice...
quinn and the club manager dude have a history.

I knew Quinn had a bigger story here.

was I taking crazy pills or did no one else see this?

I noticed it. Seems Quinn has a taste for the nose candy. Or he used to

Quinn the snow man. i wonder if him and Batista snort some lines together too

Maybe when they run out of pot. :p

I've been one of the show's biggest defenders when people complained about the past two seasons, but honestly....I'm not feeling it this year.

I feel like they've rushed through Deb's acceptance. Travis was far worse than the Jigsaw rip-off from the past two weeks and Deb couldn't accept it but now she can? I like where they came to (Deb and Dex in the car) but I don't like how they got there. It was too quick and the killer wasn't brutal enough to necessitate it, especially since Dexter's role in Rita's death was in play.

Furthermore, I am not intrigued by Yvonne's character at all. I love Yvonne, but the plot just seems like a distraction and trying to tie it into either of the main plots (LaGuerta or the mobsters) will feel contrived, IMO. So the question is, what can they really do with her? Make her Brother Sam with benefits? Someone else who had a dark passenger, overcame it and is trying to help Dex? Been there, done that, adding sex to the equation won't do much. If they wanted a love interest, they should've just brought back Lumen (as they are essentially the same character).

I am not feeling the mobsters, because frankly I am still a bit peeved at how easily Louis was resolved. Plus I think blaming all of Miami Metro is kind of a paranoid and unrealistic reaction from the crime kingpin of Miami.

I think that the LaGuerta plot is the best one and it seems to just kind of be hanging in the background. Louis could've tied into it, but they wasted him and writing him off as having some stupid motivation of Dexter insulting his video game (and him sending the Ice Truck Killer hand to Dexter as a coincidence apparently) is really lame.

I just feel like the writers are all over the place. If anything, they should've dropped Yvonne, dropped the mobsters....brought in a Danko-like villain as the season long plot, which could;'ve focused on Deb accepting Dexter and seeing his necessity when faced with a true monstrosity like Dr. Danko and used LaGuerta and Louis as the B-plot and set that up for the final season.

If there's one thing I could complain, is how easily some things get resolved. If you think about it Miami Metro does a horrible job LOL.

Matt, while I agree with a lot of what you are saying... I'll wait and see where it all goes. I don't think Deb has accepted it, or that the Louis story is over... I think Deb is dealing with a temporary insanity type thing (and god bless her, shes been through **** for 7 seasons)... Louis, yea abrupt needless death/end... but I expect his storyline to come back and bite dexter hard.

This is turning into one of my fav seasons yet.

it has to slow down though... im expecting a couple decent filler episodes soon. no way they keep this up unless there is some bad ass plan for next season.

Eh which books that? I don't recall it.

If they're going to start using the books as a source material again then they DESPERATELY need to use Dr. Danko.

That sucks, Matt. I'm really diggin this season, so far.
