Dexter - Part 3

I think this season is going to feel a major void with Isaak's absence, but if he had to go, I think they handled his exit in the best possible way.

Over the course of the episode, I found myself thinking Isaak had evolved into more than just an awesome Big Bad. I actually found myself kinda rooting for him more than Dexter, willing Dexter to help him out rather than trying to rescue Hannah so he could take away Isaak's leverage and kill him. To me it seemed like Isaak and Yurg (SP?) were more honorable than Dexter and Hannah. They were willing to play the game fair and leave the pair unharmed, so long as they played by the rules. Alas, that didn't work out well for either of them.

I was very glad though that the showrunners stuck to their guns on making Isaak an honorable man of his word. I feel a major flaw that has run throughout the show is the need to remove any moral ambiguity from Dexter's foes in order to make us feel okay with him killing them. So Trinity couldn't be a decent family man, and Travis couldn't be an innocent victim of a split personality disorder. Knowing this, I was so sure that they'd reveal that Isaak had been planning to kill Dexter anyway, his "word" be damned. But no, that didn't happen. And he was able to forgive and reconcile with Dexter, before a dignified death. If he had to go, I'm glad that's the way he went. It sounds cheesy, but I think he deserved better than Dexter's slab.

RIP Isaak
One of the best characters in the history of the series.

yeah, in the end I was sad to see him go. I do worry about all the blood that was in Dexter's boat though. If LaGuerta goes sniffing around and does a luminol test, I don't think Dex can clean it up enough tht she wouldn't find out it was there. :(

I was thinking that. Tie that in with the inner monologue Dexter was having -

"Watch any Western and you'll know that a man out for vengeance should dig two graves, one for his enemy and one for himself." Pan and Tilt to reveal all the blood covering most of his boat. "I won't be needing mine, but I'll see to it that Isaak isn't alone in his."

I think that it might have been made too obvious that the blood will be what gets Dexter caught by LaGuerta, so my guess is it'll be something else.

Removed per advice below.

I always forget the rules on different sites.

Sad to see Steveson go. I was kinda hoping for a few more eps of the un easy alliance between he and Dexter..until he kidnapped Hannah.

At the end, i got the feeling that Hannah didn't feel the same way about Dexter, as he did about her by her facial expresssions when he told her how he felt.

Im thinking with Debs constantly warning Dex about Hanna I wouldnt be suprised if Hanna is the one who kills Debs, thus driving Dexter over the edge with guilt for not listening to Debs earlier about Hanna.

I agree.

if Deb dies = Series is over.

I think its going to end up being a lot of 'everyone onto eachothers ass'... Hanna is onto Deb trying to kill her... Dex is onto hanna trying to kill deb...Laguerta is onto Dex ...Deb onto laguerta.

Dex takes out Hannah right before she gets deb, saving debs life... LaGuerta walks in.

something like that... im really thinking we get a huge cliffhanger finale.

They should have stretched Isaak and Dexter teaming up and made the relationship more tumultuous, with Dex trying to get the upper hand and failing. As it was it just felt rushed. A bit of a shame there, it was a good death scene but how we got there felt flat.

Now with all the major plotlines seemingly resolved save for LaGuerta this season is going to either end on an amazing note if they have a last card to play or end up being terribly anticlimactic if the last three eps are Hannah going "bad" and Dexter having to kill her.

I think Matthews already knows about Dexter.

I imagine that when he was younger he figured out what Harry was doing and agreed with it.

Season 7 Finale - OFFICIAL POSTER *possible spoilers*

I still don't think it will end with one of them dead.

definitely not. how could they kill off Dexter lol... and Deb, if they kill her (100% not going to happen), id stop watching the show lol.

im quite annoyed that Batista and Masuka really dont even need to be there.

Has to be some other meaning to that tagline, cause I don't really buy Deb vs Dex.

yea, if they were going to go that way, why even bother having her accept him and all.

It's just a fun tagline to generate discussion. probably just means Dexter has it coming bc of Laguerta and matthews

Only 3 episodes left. This fall tv season has flown by seemingly more quickly than usual for me, since I'm watching more shows now than I was a year or two ago.

But so far this season of Dexter has been very, very good. Really looking for them to hit the home run! I love how past storylines have gradually been fed into this season's discussions, as Deb puts all the pieces together about so many things.

I'm wondering which of the following will be the ending of the season?

a) Deb calling in the dogs on Dexter ("The Dark Knight" type ending)
b) Deb "breaking bad" and killing Hannah
c) Dex killing LaGuerta
d) Cybernetic Doakes returning from the dead

Am I the only one that liked the idea of Dexter being a hitman?

I had a wild theory that Isaak was going to try and get Dexter to work for him as an 'enforced/assassin', but I dont know how much i'd of gone for that.

Regardless how this season/series ends... you just made it worth while.

I'm guessing that Dex will die at the shows end. How else could they wrap it up?
