Dexter - Part 4

Masuka had the best scene. That laughing, LOL.

Dude that made me wanna punch my ****ing tv. It was funny but there's just so much important stuff going on or needing to be going on that it was dumb. And what about that random Jaime/Quinn sex scene? I was expecting something to happen there and then just, nothing. This season is good in parts the deconstruction of Dex and Deb's realationship and the stuff with Harry was amazing but god, if Vogel killed Harry I'll be so ****ing pissed at these writers.

predictable? i dont think anyone saw that ending coming including you

things are amping up in dexter and quick this was only episode 4

Um actually yes it did occur to me. As soon as Deb started talking about Harry I knew something was up with her and then how she started talking and just the way things were going AND based on last week's preview clearly showing a car going off the side of the road into water I was easily able to deduce that this crazy chick was about to do something exceedingly crazy

Well, for me, the car crash was predictable since I read about a scene with Dex and Deb under water... But I didn't see the 'Deb saving Dex' thing happening.. I thought it was the other way around... and to be fair... I think each episode has been good, with some 'random filler'... but we know a lot starts tying together, and I fully expect the episodes to turn into a wild ****ing ride...

spoiler spoiler... not a prediction...
Hannah comes back next episode. Maybe episode 6, but I'm pretty sure its eppy 5... esp with the random 'new love interest' being shown tonight.

don't know where thats going, but it must be big. if its just filler, ill punch myself in the nuts.

Deb's losing it or she's lost it already. First, she tries to kill herself & her brother, then she jumps to save him. Da FAK! ? :BA

Indecisive little filly, eh? :p

Well, she is feeling a lot of guilt. After knowing her Dad killed himself she thought she would do the same thing but take Dex with her to stop him.

But seeing him go under (after she was saved) she probably realized she loves him and can not kill her Brother so she saves him.

I want to know why they're still trying to shove that one black lady cop on us, as if she was with this group since season 1.

Maybe she is FBI, and they're hunting Dexter. Honestly, how isn't the Government hunting down the Bay Harbor Butcher? He

because it's a closed case. Doakes is still seen as the Bay Harbor Butcher. did you not watch season 2?

Not just season 2, but also last season, where Maria was basically shunned all around for trying to bring it back up. If they pulled something like that with this season, after putting a lid on it in two different ones, I think I'd just deem this whole finale season a disaster, no matter how good any of it ended up being besides that.

But really, the lady cop is one thing that bugs me, too. Mainly because it's like I said before, it really adds to the feeling of this just being another season. It's like they're introducing new stuff into a series that's at it's end and should be tying up the cast we already have, at least in some way.

Couldn't agree more. They are fumbling this BAD. EVERYBODY should suspect Dexter of ****ing something at this point! I'm just ready for it to be over already. Give me Breaking Bad's final 8 eps already so I can remember what a proper series finale feels like cuz I just am not feeling that we are gonna get anything too interesting here. This should feel like the final season of The Shield. From start to finish you could tell that all the years of wrong doing were closing in on Vic and something big was gonna happen, and it did and he still weaseled his way out of everything practically without a scratch and it was ****ing beautiful. The same thing should be happening here now and it just doesn't feel like it really is at all

I think they leading up to possibly Quinn taking down Dexter for being the BHB, & Deb for killing Maria. Thus becoming a shoe in for new Sarge.

& I honestly thought Deb was going to shoot herself in front of Dexter. I didn't expect her to do what she did.

The reason she saved him was because she couldn't live with having killed him, or turning him in, so she wanted to kill herself as well. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries again.

Starting to feel like same old, same old. Especially if the spoilers I heard are true.

I don't think it's too bad. To me there's a lot more positives than negatives. I do think you could cut out the Jamie stuff.

theres still 8 episodes left, no need to freak out... but i agree this isn't feeling like the finale episodes yet... and the random black detective... jeez every storyline besides Dex/deb/harry/vogel is just pointless for now atleast... hopefully something starts tying it together... Quinn onto Dex again maybe... i dont know.

Maybe I am being too hard on it, because so far the season hasn't been bad...it's just been lacking something for a finale to me. It's reminding me a lot of Weeds' finale in that it doesn't really feel final at all, and it introduces a ton of new stuff that seems unneeded and just got thrown away at the end.

Of course, Weeds' crew had an excuse, since that season wasn't originally planned for the last one if I recall. We've been hearing rumors of 7 & 8 being the last for a long time, and I think the writers even referenced the two as their end game. But it just doesn't give me that feeling. It's still good, but I felt like it had a lot of momentum going from the last season, but instead they went into some new territory that seems unneeded. The only thing they've delivered really well on is the Deb stuff. That has all lived up to expectations, but just the rest of it...feels very samey. I'm hoping something happens to give it that finale edge soon.

Hmmmm, maybe I should check out The Shield.

You won't regret it at all man. Seriously, people always talk about The Wire being the greatest show ever but I just don't see it when compared to The Shield. Of course The Wire was amazing but The Shield is the closest in my eyes that anything has come to matching the story telling quality of say Breaking Bad or The Sopranos. Actually, Sopranos has more misteps in it's narrative than The Shield. I just can't get it outta my head for real, The Shield was basically perfect from beginning to end. The way everything just comes full circle and to a head in the last season is amazing. How more people don't agree with me on this I'll never understand honestly. I'm not saying The Shield is my all time favorite series either, not at all. But it's seriously just too damn good I honestly don't have even a single negative thing to say about it.

Who are these people talking about The Wire being the greatest show ever? The ones who haven't seen The Sopranos :o

I have seen neither

General consensus. Ask around enough times what the best tv dramas are most people will say The Wire, Lost, Breaking Bad (yes even though it's not over) The Sopranos etc. And, it's not only general audience either. Plenty of critics have said that about each I listed. It's just surprising to me that The Shield doesn't usually get grouped in with them. Especially considering that Vic Mackey wouldn't have existed without Tony Soprano laying the groundwork for such flawed or even "evil" protagonists in series these days.

I'm digging the final season so far, can't wait to see where they go with all this. I have faith they will do something amazing

After reading about it in this forums, I couldn't stop thinking about the voice-over in this latest episode. It does become kind of frustrating. Also how all this random killers that are being introduced, I think they're not helping the show. In fact, all they do is get in the way of a real final season that's all about Deb/Dex and maybe a season-long 'mystery' killer that could wrap things up.
At this point, I like that the show keeps me guessing and I don't really know what's gonna happen next, but they better have a good GOOD card up their sleeves. Specially if there's some reveal about Vogel -which I'm sure there is-. If the theory that she killed Harry is true, it could bring Dex and Deb back together. But sounds way too simple. I don't know. I hope there's something else.
