Dexter - Part 4

Sounds exactly like something they'd pull at this point. What else could they do? I mean, it seemed like last year the writers got their balls back but I don't see it yet. I just don't understand why these writers are so damn scared to put their characters in REAL danger. I still honestly can't believe they not only had the balls to let Deb find out but also to have Laguerta figure everything out and to have Deb kill her. I seriously can't believe they had the balls to do that stuff because every other single bit of this show now seems like they don't have the balls to do anything whatsoever that could be considered daring

So Harry comitted suicide is a retcon... only I do agree they'll retcon that to it wasn't suicide but he was murdered by Vogel.

Masuka was great in this episode though.

This season does feel lacking too although it has only started so it might just be the first few episodes. They went into this knowing it was the last season so they should know how they're concluding it. Instead it does feel like they are treating this like a regular season.

I don't see how. There just isn't time left for that. Unless it were for a spinoff, of which I doubt they'll do.

Here's a synopsis for Episode 7, titled "The Dress Code"-
Dexter hunts down Hannah to figure out why she is Miami. Dexter takes on a protege and teaches him the code.

I loved this moment in E4.

Ugggghhhh seriously?! How! Why? I'm really starting to think this show totally blew it's wad last year

what if its Deb :lmao:

Now I am really getting scared that the final season will be a season 5-6 thing.

I'm not clicking that spoiler. Must...stay...pure. I've done a good job of avoiding the weekly promos for following episodes. I want to let myself react naturally to how things unfold as the season finishes up. I'm afraid if I read a spoiler I'll think it's awful and perhaps not let myself enjoy the show.

Source?

But if true--
I mean come on, this bit wasn't played out after the second time? Did the writers all get replaced after season 4? Seems like the show had a pretty good sense of forward momentum and character development and then they've just been flailing blindly after Rita died.

Looks like we might be getting a TDKR type ending to the series ala John Blake...:barf:

I can't believe that spoiler, unless it's something that they do right at the end. There's no way they would go that route and introduce it halfway through the season...it'd basically change the entire tone of everything they've done so far. This isn't ****ing Weeds we're talking about here.

Maybe it is though. Weeds was fantastic the first 4 or 5 seasons. 3 really but 4 and 5 were ok. After that it was just ****. I'm getting really worried though, last year should have been the end. HOW IS NOBODY EVEN INVESTIGATING DEXTER??!! AHHHH!!!!!

Nah, for me, Dexter has never quite degraded in quality to the same level Weeds did. And Dexter isn't in the habit of throwing away things in an anti-climatic matter and reinventing the season all over again like Weeds' later seasons. I really don't buy that. There's been lazy writing from time to time in Dexter (and season 6), but rarely that bad.

Dexter hasn't gotten as bad as Weeds even at it's worst. Weeds got so bad I quit watching and I was watching up to like season 6 or maybe 7 so it was pretty bad. A few Dexter eps weren't all that good but no episode or season was so bad it made want to me quit.

Season 6 did me. I actually stopped looking forward to it each week and looked at it as a chore to watch then the end with Deb sucked me back in. Plus, what about season 5 Quinn? That's worst than anything Weeds ever did IMO. Or right now the fact Angel, Quinn or Matthews aren't looking into Dexter. Angel was ****ing MARRIED to Laguerta but he isn't even suspicious of her murder AT ALL? Gtfo, these are worst fumbles with the narrative than Weeds had in it's entire run. Like, seriously

Eh, I think you're looking a little too much into what happened with Laguerta. While it's true she died suspiciously close to when she started suspecting Dexter as the BHB, but I think the fact that she got caught up with Estrada was enough of a cover for people to forget. It made a perfect degree of sense, and most people (including Angel) thought what she was doing was insane and that she was going to get burned if she didn't stop. I could maybe someone being suspicious, but it doesn't bother me that they aren't. It was all done in a way that made it easy to cover.

What about Quinn in season 5, though? My memory is faulty, what did they do that was so bad?

I never quit Weeds, I kept watching it until the end, but it dropped a lot in quality past season 3 (in which it probably should've ended). I did finish all the way through, though.

Quinn was extremely suspicious about Dexter, Rita's death, and KNEW Dex killed Liddy.... and now its like it never happened... hell its almost as if season 5 and 11 hours and 55 minutes of season 6 never really happened

Woah, what, he knew for sure that he killed Liddy? I really don't remember that. I kind of don't remember a lot of that season either.

At least Weeds still had Silas and Shane as anchors plus Andy or Doug doing something funny here or there. No one in the supporting cast of Dexter is worthwhile. All pathetic side plots that end up moot by the next season.

I don't know, I like almost all of the supporting cast of Dexter well enough. There's really none that I outright dislike. It is true, though, that their subplots have not been all that great in recent seasons.

well...its not 100% confirmed that Quinn knew... but it looked obvious to me that he knew and just **** because knew he was in over his head... but for them to abandon it completely... eh

Man, he knew. He knew. Go back and watch that ****. Him and Dex make ****ing eye contact at the scene of Liddy's murder and then Dex looks out for Quinn and smudged the blood work from his boot after he showed up just minutes after Dex actually killed Liddy. That was seriously SUCH a great part of season 5 for me. Quinn put things in motion and it was the last time in the show that it felt like Dexter was in any real danger. I loved that season for real, totally the most under rated season thus far. But yea, Quinn knew. And it's just incredibly stupid that Quinn hasn't said anything since. Especially now given Deb's behavior. He truly cares about Deb and it seems to me that a detective who knows what he knows about Dexter would see Deb now and put together the time frame of Laguerta's murder and Deb's spiral down and randomly leaving Miami Metro and be like "Holy ****, she found out about her brother" thus bringing Quinn back into the fold and making him important again. Uggggghhhhh I gotta stop thinking about this for real. It's getting me worked up lol

This show has dropped the ball so many times, it's like they get scared to progress anything.

:hehe:

what if
Quinn finds out something because of Deb (prob unknowingly) and Quinn decides to go after Dex to protect Deb... the only reason he stopped in the first place is fear, and because Dex saved his ass.
