It's still weird to me when Dexter even talks to Harrison. I keep forgetting Harrison even exists.

When he pulled Harrison aside and talked about lying about his stuffed animal and the remote this season, I was like, "Whoa, Dexter actually knows which stuffed animals his kid has? Could've fooled me."

I thought his full name was "Can You Watch Harrison".

It really doesn't make much sense for him to keep Harrison when he's never there which is why I wonder why he's not with his older siblings living it up off screen somewhere.

I don't think having Harrison was a good idea. I never was a "Harrison Fan" to begin with and I don't think it really fits for Dexter.

They didn't do anything relevant with Harrison. He can easily not be there, and everything would be pretty much the same.

Which is why I wonder how he is not with his brother and sister. He's a convienent plot device occasionally but little else.

Because his siblings aren't with Rita's parents. They are with Rita's ex-husband's parents. They are Astor and Cody's grandparents but not Harrison's, so why would two people with no blood relation to Harrison, take him from his natural father?

I forgot that it wasn't her parents but the ex-husband's. Anyhow he's their half-sibling so that would be one reason; to keep the children together.

I'm kinda thankful to be honest, in a way. Also because of Astor & Cody, I never liked them, though I understand they "helped" Dexter develop into a "human" more.. In a way, I'm glad, but it just feels weird that Dexter doesn't even see them anymore (at least they could have mentioned it, I don't want them showing it, but at least mention it). It kinda makes him a lousy father as for the kids I'm surprised they didn't bother to come visit either.

It could've helped the show evolve a bit if Dexter kept them around and actually tried to be a father to them. But instead they basically preserved the status quo by moving Astor and Cody away and making Harrison all but irrelevant 99% of the time.

I totally agree man, I mean wtf is wrong with the writers? Even though as I said, I 'm not a huge Astor & Cody fan, but this also bothers me! Looks like they completely got ignored after Rita's death in Season 4, slowly, but surely.
