Well, on the plus side, if Dexter somehow, miraculously, ends up surviving, maybe he'll get that confrontation with Batista after all. That's still one of New Blood's missed opportunities.

Even if this is still not a good idea.

I've been watching the series for the first time. Just started season 8. I feel like the s7 storyline would've been a perfect time to bring the series to an end.

I think season 8 was the right time to wrap up the series it’s just the execution that was lacking. What do you think about the series so far since your at the finish line.

I enjoy it. Think 8 seasons is VERY LONG for this type of concept. Dexter is very Batman. Very lucky. The way he can easily track people overseas was laughable.

Lila should've been able to get away and come back in the final season.

What in the ever loving hell was that "series" finale? I put myself through this for that? I am beyond mad.

Like I said....S7 storyline should've been an end and it would've been better with Deb living and raising her future serial killer nephew. Killing Deb was STUPID. Dexter disappearing was STUPID.

I dont want to but ill probably watch the failure that was New Blood where they better at least have Deb be the new voice in Dexters head.

Somehow despite knowing this series....the only big thing I knew was Ritas death and I thought Dexter killed her so....I was still surprised.

I did NOT just go through 8 seasons just to get to a revival where.....what they put me through was essentially useless. Hannah "died" of cancer? Off my screen?

The women who was supposed to be Dex's "true love" and made him choose her over his sister and inadvertently lead to her death.....is dead? Lord...

And Harrison is now a brunette? They erasing Rita right outta the boy! Also acting like he dont got siblings? He should be blonde to be very much distinct from Dex. COme on now.

I guess we at least have Deb as the dark passenger....

I can somewhat get the tonal change for New Blood and going from sunny Miami to a dark winter town but I still am not liking what they did with Harrison. Its so generic and safe. He should've been tall, blonde, charismatic. The opposite of Dexter and clearly stands out from the rest of the this moody town that . The supporting cast is also kind of boring.

I thought it was all right. Certainly compared to the last season of Dexter itself, lol.

I never finished New Blood, myself, I think I dropped it around episode 3 or 4. But then I was never overly mad at the way Dexter ended to begin with, so I didn't need a revival series.

To me, New Blood was just so different stylistically, from the cast to the visuals to the editing to the score (the original composer passed away), that it didn't really feel like the same show. And the way Clyde Phillips had Dexter regress back to how he was in season 3 or 4, and the complete jettisoning of anything that happened in the later seasons put me off. It all just felt like a retread and very predictable.

I'm interested in the idea of a sequel, but not if Clyde Phillips is still involved. And the prequel series looks absolutely terrible.

I'll give the prequel a chance but yeah, my expectations aren't high.

Yeah i don't get the need for a prequel. We got enough flashbacks in Dexter that..... what does this add to the story? Mythology?

It's just more IP mining that shows they can't come up with something original or different.
