Horror Dexter - Part 6

It was a BIC pen man. a ****ing BIC pen. seriously [BLACKOUT]debs death being Dexters final kill is awesome... but saxons death being the final bad ass kill in dexter style is ****. [/BLACKOUT]
:onever seen casino pen's are brutal

I still cannot believe they never explored Miami Metro finding out about Dexter. To me, no matter how the ending played out, that is unforgivable.

Heh, well, not a huge fan of the finale. I guess it could've been worse, but damn, it wasn't "horrible", but I wouldn't even classify it as good, either. It was just....ok?

Thought it was meh. The last 10-15 minutes were damn good stuff though. Just wish they didn't have that last bit. Thought him dumping Debs body and just driving into the storm would of been good enough.

Overall the season was a piece of **** and I'm glad it's over.

clyde Phillips ending I would have liked better a fitting end

You basically just said it was horrible. :hehe:

i still feel the shield had one of the best series finales of any show i have watched

It seems clear to me now that the first 11 episodes of this season were basically a huge troll and an attempt to convince us that we were headed towards a happy ending so they could rip it out from under us in the last episode. I bought it hook, line and sinker too, I truly thought Dexter was going to get a fresh start.

Ultimately, it didn't pay off because the direction of this season turned 90% of the fanbase against the show, but this one really was something of a punch to the gut. I haven't felt this way after a Dexter episode since Rita's death. And this feels much, much sadder.
Haha, I was calling that for awhile. It's a shame the execution of the season was shaky, because I thought it did a great job giving us a taste of the arc/resolution Dexter needed, but he ended up getting the one he deserved. It ended up alienating a lot of fans to get there, unfortunately. Partially because people didn't seem to like the humanized Dexter, but also because of the sloppiness of the writing.

On my second viewing of the episode, I liked it a lot more, and I think it was a very fitting ending. Like you, I found it to be very emotionally devastating to see all that progress he'd worked so hard for throughout the entire series go to waste. But I did like that it was his choice to make and he makes the choice that makes sense to the character we've come to know.

I really feel bad for Harrison though. Poor kid.

one thing is i hope MCH lands another great gig

he is one of the few actors who got great tv success back to back with very good shows in six feet under and dexter

First, I must say that I'm GLAD the spoilers weren't 100% true! I'm glad Quinn didn't became New Dex and I'm glad Dexter didn't recieve the happy ending, going to Argentina with Harrison & Hannah!

Saxon's death was alright to me, like it's been said, it was brutal (which is what the show lacked this season..).

I say the ending was good overall, not great by any means, but good. At least the show didn't left a complete sour taste in my mouth after this weak season.

Jesus Christ this was bad. If the writers philosophy was leave the viewer wanting more then they accomplished it but only because this was a ****ing terrible ending. Harrison probably could have drawn a better ending than this. **** man. ****. All that time spent watching the past 7 seasons and this is what we get at the end...****.

Between this and Weeds, I'm scared to see where House of Lies and Ray Donovan will be at after their 3rd or 4ths seasons because it seems like Showtime shows have a history of just going to **** after those.

EDIT: So basically moral of the story is humanity makes you feel like **** in the end. Well, can't argue there, since this episode definitely made me feel like **** after putting in all those effing hours of my life to watch the show.

Why are you guys saying he embraced the Dark Passengers? He didn't. He's a lumberjack living in the middle of nowhere. There's no one to kill. The point of the ending is that he acknowledges the monster and how it hurts people. He doesn't want to hurt people anymore. He wants to be away from society. If anything, the lumberjack thing ruins everything. If it had ended with him driving the boat towards the storm, that would have been perfect. Or at least as good as it could get considering the sloppy writing.

Killing himself by driving into the storm would seem like less of a punishment than living out a life of nothing. Self imposed purgatory.

Oh, please. He could still find happiness in the middle of nowhere. He could befriend his co-workers, find a nice lumberjack girl, or even get a pet. It's a cop-out. Letting the hurricane kill him was the appropriate ending.

knowing his life killed his father, his wife and his sister i highly doubt he would befriend anyone

only way to live his life is to be alone

So Debra was the third strike? He was perfectly fine after Harry and Rita. Not to mention countless of other causalities. But Debra dies and suddenly his whole life is shattered? Let's be realistic, after 8 seasons, we all know it's just a phase for Dexter. These deaths ultimately don't impact him. The ending was a cop-out.

Deb is always suppose to be the most important person to Dexter. It just feels like the writers forgot that when he was so willing to go to Argentina with Hannah and leave her behind.

Also didn't Hannah make him human? He's known Deb all his life and her finding out didn't make him want to stop killing.
