    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

Horror Dexter - Part 6

Yeah, it seemed like whatever humanity was breaking through this season, is all gone.

I felt that somethings in Miami needed to be tied up better. Elway's thread looked like it could have ended better.

Decent up until the end. That end was horrible.

Right!? I mean i like the whole
full on Dark Passenger thing, but wtf was the **** that led up to it? Dexter fights a hurricane and WINS! :lmao:

Okay the hurricane bit was really, really stupid.

Hated it...
I'm completely disappointed with everyone involved with that show. The producers had a moral obligation to their audience to actually hold him accountable for the crimes he's committed . They failed. He should have been subjected to the legal system and he should have been sent to prison.I understand he lost everything he cares about, but that simply isn't good enough

The only thing that you all should notice about that last minutes............

[blackout]there was no narration. We always heard what Dexter was thinking, like we are hearing his conscious. The last minute, we are all wondering, what is he thinking.......... he went FULL DARK PASSANGER, HE HAS NO CONSCIOUS.[/BLACKOUT]

Yup. Nailed it.

I actually found this finale really impactful and emotionally heavy. Deb's burial at sea was so sad. Dexter didn't get his happy ending after all, he really got the complete opposite.

I honestly liked the finale. I always felt this series had to end on a dark note, and as much as I was rooting for a happy ending for Dex this felt right. Just very sad.

I liked the whole Deb
burial in the water and the full-on Dark Passenger Dexter at the end of the episode.

It's really the hurricane bit that was so stupid. Dexter is clearly an Olympian swimmer.

the hurricane, hannah, everything but debs stuff was useless... thats the story of the season really.

Dexter is Aquaman.

this whole season just feels like random filler to get to one final point.

god damn. might as well of been like the Big C with 4 1 hour episodes to end it.

The score was really great in this episode. I dunno, this one brought the feels back for me and reminded me a lot of why I loved the show in the first place, which is what I was hoping for. Of all the dark and haunting moments in the series, I'd have to say that Dex euthanizing Deb and the burial at sea is up there. Yeah, all the hurricane stuff was a bit fanciful but it made for a nice apocalyptic backdrop to the episode.

This might've been my favorite Dexter episode of the past 4 seasons.

This finale was freaking TERRBILE!

WTH?!

I enjoyed this finale because the most important person in Dex's life should be Deb. So I like that this is what pushes him over the edge. Dexter finally faces some consequences for his actions.

Its just that the execution and some of the plot threads are pretty stupid.

The last conversation Deb and Dex had was the first time I felt engaged watching Dexter in I don't know how long.

Haven't watched the ep yet (still waiting for torrent to finish) but it must've been bad lol everywhere I go people hated it.

Dexter killing Saxon was a really great scene. I'm pretty sure all the narration came to a halt Deb turned vegetable. And that was really effective. It created more tension on a subconscious level, I didn't even really notice that until after it was over. And yeah, we get one more final narration when he's taking her out to sea, but I think the point of the final scene is definitely "full dark passenger". Overall, Michael C. Hall was fantastic in this episode. This episode definitely had flashes of the Dexter of old, for me anyway.

It's almost as if the unspoken narration of the final scene is "It's going to happen again...". I thought the writers were done with the pretense that Dexter's actions would have consequences, but clearly they weren't and were setting us all up for a fall the whole time by pushing the idea of a happy ending for Dexter.

Nah. It'll be one of those controversial "love it or hate it" things. The ending has enough merit to be defended for sure.

I found the Saxon death scene somewhat laughable because why did he stab in the shoulder? Did he think he tipped it with poison or something.

It's funny, there was a lot of talk of the general Dexter arc being like a Pinocchio allegory about the journey to becoming a "real boy".

In actuality, it turned out to be more like...Edward Scissorhands. He experienced life, he experienced love, but in the end his nature damns him to an isolated existence. I feel really sad for Dexter.
