Yeah I was pretty glad to see her go. She was bats**t crazy man!

Sure, bat **** crazy for Dexter at least. But Dexter is also bat **** crazy, and does equally underhanded things the same as Lila when his needs or well being is at stake. I don't understand why anyone would watch this how if being bat **** was a bad character trait. It's a character flaw, but then good characters are supposed to have those.

What I liked about Lila as a redeeming quality, as I identified with the murderous vigilanty inside Dexter (hey we all do, or we wouldn't be watching), is her embodiment of independence. She knows what she wants and how to get what she wants; though okay, not in the case of Dexter who wants to pretend he's normal hence his need to distance himself from her. Though in general, she is a sole example to be a doer, not a whiner, not slacker, not a dreamer, but an active achiever.

A damned pyromaniac who tried to killed Rita's kids. It doesn't really matter if they could have escaped, she still kidnapped them and almost set em on fire!

Couldn't have "almost set them on fire" if she knew they'd get out. No need to kill the bait as that's all they were, and she clearly treated them well the entire time she had them in her care based on their demenor when Dexter arrives. She had no ill intent for them, otherwise they'd be laying there lifeless on her bed once Dexter arrived, and he'd still be drawn to the end of the room just to make certain they were all right setting him up to burn all the same.

I hated her too. I thought she was an annoying waste of time that season.

The Bay Harbor Butcher, Doakes, and Dexter trying not to be found out should have been the only focus of the season.

Not to mention that she is responsible for the extremely lackluster and disappointing way that Doakes died.

I guess that's where we differ. For starters, hile watching Doakes attempt to prove his innocence from behind death row might have milked the drama a bit more, I much preferred the drama Lila was causing in Dexter's love life. I also never liked Doakes. He's a murderer who got a get-out-of-jail free card from the government as well as an uptight hard-ass who needs to rediscover the happy things about living. Yes, I know about his past, and the trauma that can remain with a soldier for the rest of his life from experiences in war. Unfortunately that's only an explanation. One born from pity at that. Not an excuse. I usually don't like characters where the only thing they have going for them is how pitiful they are. With Doakes, that's all I see outside of the unlikable, uptight hardass that he is. In the end, it's because he's such a witless hardass that caused his down fall to Dexter to boot.

Lila's MO isn't to kill people and then set them on fire. She kills people in fires to make it look like an accident and because she is a pyro. I really think you are mistaken about her intent in regards to the children.

Seeing Quinn & Weller together that was pretty cool scene.

The relationship between Dexter & Lumen is the only thing keeping me interested. I am digging the father/daughter thing they got going.

I still maintain that Deborah & Masuka have more Chemistry. They are just going with the Deborah/Quinn crap cause that way it will be all dramatic when Deborah finds out another one her boyfriends wasn't being honest with her.

Deborah's never going to have a stable relationship with anyone until she gets over her daddy issues. And that won't happen enough she knows the whole truth about Dexter. She needs to understand why Harry focused so much on Dexter when they were growing up.

That being said, the latest episode, First Blood, was really good. I still think this show is very well written and I'm looking forward to see what happens with Lumen, but also between Dexter & Quinn. I bet Quinn ends up being either framed or killed, though I would like a happy ending this time.

As for Masuka, he's funny and I like him, but I can never see him ending up with Debra, idk why. But I have to say if by any chance they might end up together, it would be really funny haha.

It is really weird see Dexter with all these emotions. He is starting to pick up on peoples uncomfortabilities. His reaction to those mothers talking about him had some semblance of pride when he said there was nothing wrong with his son.

He seemed to actually be concerned about Quinn being around his son. It wasn't just for selfish reasons. It is fascinating to watch.

It doesnt help that they picked the most obvious person either. I am sure everyone that watches the show when they first saw Quinn in season 3 thought to themselves, well he & Debra (my bad about the spelling) are gonna do it.

It was funny watching Quinn first appear in season 3 back again. He looked like a criminal lol.

I loved how Quinn made a comment about it being a bit hot for gloves...if only he actually knew.

It's interesting but very scary and $h!tty for ol' Dex. I assume in 2-3 episodes Christopher Henderson/Robocop will be laying on Dexter's table.

Personally I'm starting to hope that Angel kills Laguerta, Dexter finds out and puts Angel on his table. The Angel/Laguerta plot lines in this season and last season have been incredibly annoying and reek of the writers being desperate to find something for the characters to do.
