That's true....but it was funny :hehe:

I wonder though, do you think any of these shows will have an episode based that trial? Probably ending with them finding out that she is guilty and her getting killed?

The new Dexter promo makes me oh so glad I bailed on this show when I did. Down hill she goes!

A darkly-comic take at Dexter being the angel of death and the season's going to be bad? I expect they're foreshadowing a season in which the killer or someone has religious motives - not that Dexter's found God in any way. I highly doubt Dexter is even able to understand the concept of religion.

Meh. I don't think the promo has anything to do with Season 6. It's just ironic and darkly comedic. They've done promos like this before.

That trailer was so blatantly played up for humor.

1. You have a religous killer this season Dex become intrigued by

2. You have the books in which there is a spiritual element that was involved at one point.

3. You have this trailer.

Many fans of the show have feared that they would introduce this because the books did at one point. To some their fears may be coming true.

With that said. After watching the Promo a couple more times. I suppose it could be taken lightly. It can't be denied that religion is going to play a big part of the plot next season.

Let's just see how this season goes it's just a promo. We'll have a better idea of this season when the trailer for S6 hits this thursday.

I had a problem with the season 3 funhouse teaser. In the trailer he says he finally knows who he is but wasn't season 3 about Dexter questioning the code and Harry's teachings? He only figured out Harry was right at the end of the season when Miguel turned rogue and the Skinner kidnapped him. So I would take this new season 6 promo lightly. It's just meant to get the word out that Dexter is back in the fall. Many shows come up with "artistic" teasers that aren't totally related to coming season.

I hate to say this - because at the end of the day im just a fan (and what would I know?)

But...

The end of Season four gave us the show the opportunity to try something a little outside the box and go completely crazy with their concept. But instead we ended up with Lumen :/

I'm worried that this season will be another water treading season with a few cool bits thrown in to make it watchable but not awesome.

Agreed.

Because the first 2 seasons, & season 4 were so great. I still hold out hope that they will find their footing again. IMO.

Yeah I'm hopeful too.
The funny thing is, even some of the worst episodes are still better than half of the shows on TV these days - but this show is just so capable of a lot more.
A perfect "guideline" would be following the same structure as Breaking Bad - in that there is no structure. It was fine to see Dexter kill bad guy of the week while learning something about himself and chasing the "big bad", but they've opened the series up to so much more now.
Give me Deb putting two and two together. Give me a manhunt for Dexter, who is on the run while still allowing his dark passenger the freedom to stop a killer. Give me something that we haven't seen already.

Sorry guys, end rant.

Yeah I like the tone of the trailer.

Marilyn Manson's version of Personal Jesus works well.

I love that trailer, and I had no idea that Edward James Olmos would be playing the mentor/partner to Colin Hanks' character. Can't wait for the new season now, looks intense.

Sweeeeet.

hahah did dex get shot?
Do you mean the shot of him holding a knife and looking like he's got a blood-stain on his abdomen? I thought that might be a victim's blood, but it does also seem like he could've been shot.

I know that will make a great cliffhanger ending. Which it most likely will be if it is that.

it kinda looked like he was clutching at a wound.

lol I can't wait to see Mos Def.

This season looks like it might be a good one. Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks are gonna kill their roles. I expect a Lithgow worthy performance from Olmos thats for sure

Its so easy isn't it. Just throw together some clips. Toss on a Manson song. That makes it awesome? It is trickery at its best. They also used a lot of previous scenes in this trailer. I am not going to say one way or the other until the season is over.
