The Dark Knight Did anyone feel a J. Depp/Jack Sparrow vibe from joker?

Funny, I don't really recall any Joker scenes where he walked around as if he was a drunk trying to dance, flailing his arms and saying "Oh bugger". Maybe it was just me.

LOL same here

hate to be the odd one out but I totally did, and I think they are similar but completely different

like an elephant and a polar bear, similar but completely different

Similar?!?! like how? Like they are both animals? lol
So Heath and Depp were similar because they were both humans? :oldrazz:

they did act similiar AT TIMES. i dont get how you ppl can be so ignorant.

well if they acted similar during certain times what were they?
Enlighten us and tell us how they acted similar.

Ill say overrated again, just cause its fun to mess with people, honestly I think Depp is great, but his acting is very OVERRATED!!

there were times where the way he talked and moved was too much like a Depp character, most notably jack sparrow. i swear, if theres anyone to recast the joker with, its Depp. heath at times felt like a jack sparrow type character with his version of joker. the wierd movements and way of saying some things, his humour.

Not at all.

So your telling me that a psychotic criminal mastermind has similarities to a drunken bumbling pirate moron?

I was watching 10 Things I Hate About You again (haven't seen it in so long) and I forgot how good it was, even for the 'teen' genre movie. Anyway, there was this scene where Patrick is following Kat in the bookstore, arguing as usual, and he goes 'Ooh! Looks like somebody's panties are in a twist,' I swear I heard the Joker in his voice. For those who don't remember or haven't seen it, go watch!! :)

THANK YOU!!! thats what ive been trying to say.

and i also dont think anyone on these boards was a crazy heath fan, but now they are because he did pretty cool joker.

Not fair judgment. There are a lot of Heath fans prior to his casting, I remember quite a few members defending him when there was a whole uproar about how terrible a choice he was. Me, I didn't even know who he was except he was Australian and was nominated for an Oscar, so I was unbiased by default. So I did get to enjoy everyone freaking out.

I'm ashamed to say that I once wanted Bruce Campbell to be the Joker. Yeah yeah, laugh. :csad:

O/T, but your signature caught my eye. I think Batman Begins was highly necessary (the origin reboot) without it, there would be no Dark Knight. Also, I don't see how you can compare on which movie was better, considering it's generally the same. It's like saying the Two Towers of Lord of the Rings was better than the Fellowship of the Ring, and it should of came first, lol.

I got a Sweeney Todd vibe from Heath's Joker.

Sweeney Todd was too angry and serious to remind me of the Joker. Though it'd be interesting to see a Joker interpretation in the likes of Todd: always glaring off into the distance, rarely smiling, rarely speaking.

In terms of violence he is very similar to Depp's Sweeney Todd, but not in relation to his personality at all.

oh yes, he has similar relations - but I simply did not think of Depp at the moment when I was busy concentrating on the Joker. I guess, it's their background and personality that makes it different for me

I felt a strong Alex De Large vibe when the Joker is kicking Batman at the penthouse party and also in the tower for their final fight. Johnny Depp not so much. But I see your point in the sense that you have 2 great actors with a strong vision for their character. I still prefer Heath though for his total immersion and commitment.

If the Joker reminded me any any one person it was Charles Manson.

Depp is like a lot of actors he's good in some roles but sometimes he tries to press his range and looks dumb.

The Joker in TDK didn't remind me of anyone. Nothing. It was all his. I didn't think of anything else while I was watching the movie, to begin with.

No, not at all. I think Heath's performance was amazing and nothing like the Jack Sparrow character. Johnny did an amazing job with his role as well, but they were nothing alike.
