Arrow Dinah Laurel Lance/Katie Cassidy Thread - Part 3

This seriously sucks, still I hope they have something planned for Canary elsewhere. Hopefully a BOP show or movie and one that has nothing to do with the Flarrowverse. They have wrecked the character long enough, just go with a fresh slate involving Babs,Dinah and Helena.

I'm done with Arrow now,if this is true then Nyssa loses any purpose and it'll be a major blow to Thea's character as well. The only character who benefits is Felicity...big surprise.

Do you think that it could be possible that the movie universe wanted Black Canary so they have to let her go? Although I don't fully believe the reports anyways so I doubt it.

It's very possible, there were rumours regarding Canary. Still it's more about some of us putting a more positive spin on potential developments. Otherwise we'd be down to Arrow and Felicity bashing.

All I know is that I wont be watching Arrow, seeing Thea and Laurel grow was my biggest pull factor. I wont pretend to be a huge fan of the characters themselves but I really liked seeing how they went from the worst characters from the first 2 seasons to being the show's redeemable qualities.

Can somebody clue me in as to the source of all this worrisome speculation about Laurel dying?

There were set photos of the cast at a funeral. Some are very evident that they are flashbacks due to the look of the characters, but others include people who wouldn't have been there in the past, so it is most likely the present, in which Laurel is not present.

^ And this has caused people to freak out because?

A particular character's presence or absence means nothing in and of itself, even with the whole "who's in that grave?" mystery looming.

There was also some alleged folder that said "Katie Cassidy last day shooting on Arrow".

The big debate early on was whether or not these were intentionally leaked, since the photos don't look like typical spy photos. They look like they were closer, BTS photos. So if that's the case, why would they either allow someone to take photos of a "major spoiler" unless they wanted it to leak.

The fact that we saw everyone in present day except for Katie/Stephen, it's a pretty big indicator. Plus Katrina Law in funeral attire.

-A Flashback scene of Sara's funeral was filmed
-Present day scene of whoever is in the grave was shot. Pictures of some cast members on set for the burial.. Quentin was one of them. Although no pictures of Amell on set... So people are taking the report of Katie not being on set as accurate..

Although the pictures seem to be more of someone who was allowed to be on set than it was of just people getting a peak from a far.

If it is a flashback to Sara's grave has anyone thought that it could be Lance's flashback and similar to Moira being given flashback focus in the episode of her death, Lance could be the one to go?.

Lance has been seen in both past/present attire. Laurel has not. She is absent from the present day funeral.

The quality of the pictures and the demeanor of the people toward the photographer leads me to doubt that the pictures are ironclad proof.

Okay, where can I see these pictures? This does seem very concerning but I'm still not entirely sure, here. Plus, what happened to Laurel being important via the courtroom? Are we to assume that someone will have her killed because of what she succeeds in doing via the courts? So, they won't be killing her as Black Canary but as Laurel? That would suck even more than her going down in a fight...ugh. I don't like this idea. At all.

The absence of Laurel does not confrim it is her 100%, but it makes her a more likely suspect.

I was going to link you to the guy's Twitter account that seemed to capture it all, but he suddenly protected all of his tweet. I think because of all the fan backlash he was receiving.

What bothers me is the likelihood is that Laurel will have her death orchestrated by Malcolm, who is already responsible for killing Sara. An in wrestling terms, that would bring Malcolm a lot of heat and hate, which you want your villain to have, but I feel like it does more damage to his character and the show, considering Ollie has had numerous chances to end him and has refused to each time. And next to season 3 Felicity, I feel like Malcolm is a character that shouldn't even be on the show, but since it's more about people loving Barrowman, they won't keep him gone for good.
Is Donna at the funeral?
No, she is also absent, which makes her a suspect as well. But considering KC is a regular, and Donna is her father's girlfriend, it would be messed up, for both really, if neither were present.

Ohh, if it is Laurel, and Malcolm does orchestrate it, then there's no doubt that Oliver's going no-holds-barred on him. If Malcolm survives this season by some happenstance, then from now on I'd expect Oliver to go full-on rage mode any time he sees Malcolm. He'd probably try to straight-up kill him.

Here's a thought: Oliver and Laurel are captured by HIVE, unable to attend the funeral. Or something. There could be reasons. Also the flashbacks could be to parallel Quentin going through tragedy in the past and present, and showing his reaction then vs. now.

Just seems like such a waste to kill Laurel off after transitioning her into Black Canary. Would've preferred they'd had kill her off at the end of s1 or 2.

But this would add up with everyone whose been analyzing KCs twitter activity. Profile change, header change, interviews not really commenting what's next for Laurel. And of course MG seems to like more "original" charecters who aren't tied down to a big destiny and who they have more freedom molding.

If it is the case that they kill her, then I agree. A massive waste IMO. She has had a lot of development during the 4 seasons and has come a long way. If it is her, then it really would make me think that it was an order from above.
