The publication noted in another article the month prior that Meghan, though “stunningly beautiful,” was not “the society blonde style of previous girlfriends” of Harry.

I knew the moment I saw they were stepping back from being royals she would be the reason most people assumed was why. Which in a sense is true because the way she has been treated by the UK tabloids and racists would make anyone want to leave.

I am mildly surprised there hasn't been more blame being on her as an American but the urge to blame her race appears more appealing to them than her nationality.

Same as everywhere else good and bad everywhere.

Most Brits (majority scots) including myself I know have genuinely no interest at all in the monarchy in any form. I wish them no ill will but I honestly do not care in the slightest to hear what is going on in their lives. Ever since Harry has married Megan they've become incredibly popular and been on tv a lot more than the royals usually are.

Only really came across two people who had anything of that nature to say and both are late 50s early 60s. First one was that he didn't like that Harry married a foreigner. Second and by far the worst the bloke said something to the effect that she would muddy the royal blood line.

Most black British people have been saying Meghan Markle has been getting racially harassed by the British press since day one. it's pretty much been a ongoing topic among the black community over here whenever the topic is brought up.

Everytime they interview black Brits on Tv or black Brits comment on it on social media they get shutdown.

There is certainly still racism in the UK but a lot of white British people are in deep denial and want to sweep it under the rug because it makes them uncomfortable or don't want to believe it's true.

If you want to see how racist the British tabloid press is you only need to check out their treatment of Black England soccer player Raheem Sterling.

Racism has actually been getting worst again. The whole global rise of the far right/alt right, isolationist xenophobia populism politics and so on has seen to more racists sprouting their ugly heads.

Even EPL soccer games have seen a rise in racism the last couple years after it died down for a couple decades.

Watch five minutes of any morning show over in Britain where race is involved, and you will realize that is very, very, very wrong. It is very similar to the US really. Some very deep denial, and no thought to how racism thrives, even without the vast majority's intention to do so.

Europe has it's share of Bigots just like anywhere else.

Northern and Western Europe is probably more tolerant than Southern and Eastern Europe but racism exists everywhere.

I will say I feel way more safe and secure as a black person in the UK than I have during my visits to the U.S.
