The other day, I posted something saying words, in and of themselves, were meaningless and that the meaning we attributed to them was all important. I misspoke.....what I should have said is that "a word" is meaningless and that the meaning we attach to it is everything. I used the idea of taking back what was once considered a "derogatory" term; specifically "queer" and chuckled at the fact that I remember people saying that the word "gay" had been stolen.

"Words" are important and when you string them together, there's no other way to look at it.

He was always baffled by racism, hated it.

Hell, his band had LEROI MOORE and CARTER BEAUFORD (plus Boyd Tinsley - even though he's been controversial recently).

DMB was more interracial than most alt-rock (let alone jam) bands even today and they started in 1991.

Hell, his band had LEROI MOORE and CARTER BEAUFORD (plus Boyd Tinsley - even though he's been controversial recently).

DMB was more interracial than most alt-rock (let alone jam) bands even today and they started in 1991.

I love Dave and the folks who play with him. I doubt he has racist bone in his body, music is universal and helpful with that, I believe.
