six cops walked up and just beat you? What happened? the entire
Situation if you wouldnt mind. If it is traumatizing to recapture you dont have to share and I wont keep asking.
Nah, it used to bother me, but I'm over it.
I was pulled over for "speeding" which I maintain is lie to this day because my aunt who's in her late 50's (and for context also black) was in the passenger seat (I don't speed with anyone else in the car let alone an elder).
I had just moved from FL to MA and hadn't had time to swap my license over. Also for context I had just left the military not too long before this and hadn't had enough time to re-adjust to civilian life.
I was pulled over. I was respectful. Gave the dude my all my documents. But for whatever reason he was taking too long. A SUV and another car pulls up with 5 other officers. He tells me that my license is expired and that he had to book me. Fine whatever. But my aunt doesn't speak English or drive. The officer starts going through her permission to get money for a cab without her permission while I try to explain the situation to him. This is in MA in February so it's one of the coldest days of the year. They wanted to impound the car, book me, and to leave my aunt who is handicapped with a cane, in the middle of the snow, with no English, money, or a phone.
I lost my **** and got belligerent because they were ignoring me. That's when they startedbbeati the shot out of me.
I kept yelling that I didn't care about myself, that I was a veteran, they'd have to kill me before adandoning my aunt at the side of the road.
The oldest cop there told two young guys to take my aunt home while they took me to the PD.
To say I don't like cops in general is an understatment. But I know they're justndoing their "jobs". It's thenabusw of power and how they go about it that bothers me to this day. These men and women need to be held to higher standards if they're going to be enforcing the law.
