She and her wife are longtime education activists, and apparently she's been "studying up" on other issues, in particular transportation policy. She's targeting that because there's lots of problems with New York City's subway system, which is run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority overseen by Governor Cuomo. But no real political experience or qualifications unless you count education activism.

Hell, I've always said Hillary should just run for that position, either that or NYC mayor. She'd very likely win, and would be a step up from who's in now.

Why would she even bother doing it? Giving in to a bunch of idiots only demeans her.

For the sake of argument you look at any DNA test from people who have families that have been longer here then 3 generations, good chance they will have native DNA

Even a couple of actual for-really-reals Cherokees have come out speaking out against her. She doesn't seem the type to just disappear over this, though - apparently Dolezal's got some TV show or something, if people like their politics they won't care about the lying about her heritage stuff.

Warren is not going to run for President, partially because she knows she will never win. The only way a woman will ever be elected President is if the GOP nominates a moderate Republican woman, then they will win easily.

As for her claims to have Native American heritage, just about every white person from Oklahoma is told they have a Cherokee Grandma or Great-Grandma. They do the same thing in the Appalachian mountains. I guess white people do it to make themselves feel better about the whole theft and genocide thing. 99% of people who claim it are either lying or have been lied to. My mothers parents told her the same crap (my family is from WVA), and I don't need a DNA test to tell you I am the whitest person on Earth.

I think she has a fighting chance. Particularly since Cuomo's track record is poor in a big city like NYC.

History is on the Democrats' side this year. I would not be surprised if Nixon wins, especially if she keeps to her campaign message and articulate how to get things done.

I had a Cherokee great-grandmother (documentedly, not just family lore), but it'd be pretty silly for me to claim to be anything but white just because I have a tiny drop of Native American blood.
