There's a lot of speculation in that article, but little of actual substance.

The only interesting thing I saw in there was that Fassbender and Lawrence apparently signed lucrative one-off deals for the Dark Phoenix movie. So they don't have options to come back after that film and they might be too expensive anyway.

Also heavily slanted.

That article singles out Disney as a "safe player." Yes, like Guardians of the Galaxy was seen as a "safe" choice in 2012. Please.

Everyone wants to pat 20th Century Fox on the back these days because of Deadpool and Logan. And don't get me wrong, great films. But that happened after a lot of trial and error and they spent almost half a decade refusing to make Deadpool.

Start with the big guns, establish them. Then get to the riskier characters.

Let's put it this way. 20th Century Fox had the film rights to X-men a lot longer than 17 years. And fans had been talking about Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool since 2004, since Joe Quesada got him acquainted with the character after Blade Trinity.

12 years later we finally got the Deadpool movie. TWELVE YEARS.

I never said they would. I was mostly referring to the fact that people forget that outside of the MCU stuff this is an absolutely terrible deal that will hurt the industry in the long term.

Here's an example of how false news can get circulated out of such deal announcements. Entertainment Weekly reported that Pixar was looking at Ant-Man after the Marvel Disney sale in September 2009.

Everyone wants to call Marvel safe rather than give them credit for what they've been able to do. Which as you just said, turning an obscure comic and set of heroes like Guardians of the Galaxy into a bigger movie franchise than X-Men and Justice League, who's films can't even sniff Guardians numbers at this point.

You don't get away with doing Guardians in you first phase, no. But a movie with that set of characters was still a calculated risk. And the fact that risk paid off I guarantee you is all the reason why Warner Bros. moved Batman v Superman away from Civil War in 2016.

Let's not forget, they both wanted that release date at first. Warner Bros. ultimately moved because they knew going to war with Marvel was bad news for them. Marvel made WB blink, and it was partially due to a talking raccoon. It's undeniable.

That's about the extent of what I expect him to say on any of this until regulatory approval is done. Even then, Feige tends to be the type who likes to keep things close to the vest for the most part unless it's a big slate event or announcement event.
