Disney's live-action "Mulan"

You do you, I want my whimsy if I'm paying for a remake that leaves out one the main attractions.

Were you.planning not to see it anyway? They were pretty clear from the start that Mushu was not going to be a part of this.

I hear you, but it’s a different story when it’s at the expense of removing everything that made the original fun.

People in the twitter comments say it's great value if you have a family. But honesty, how many families are actually going to pay the $30? If you want the TV to babysit your kids there's more than enough content on their for kids to plough through without having to fork over extra money for something you'll be able to watch for free in 6 months time.

That also hit right at the start of the pandemic, and you didn’t already need to be subscribed to a single streaming service.

Also, they made a lot initially but then stopped reporting after the first week. I think it was reported that it may not even break even when all is said and done so who knows! Studios can claim success on anything now.

NBCU's 'Trolls' Play: Stars Want Pay, But Will Studio Make Any Money?

It also may surprise many people that despite NBCU's boast that the Trolls sequel has scored almost $100 million domestically from the on-demand release, the movie is still millions in the red and, in the opinion of some industry veterans, may never make a dime.

I know it is a long shot, but do we know any of what was reshot for the film?

I guess we’ll find out. Looks like the families were fine paying $20 for Trolls 2 just to rent for 48 hours though

Except it wasn't the box office game changer it was made out to be. Disney+ would have to get literally half their customers to pay for Mulan to get as much as they would have made in theatres.

Which is why theaters aren't going anywhere, any time soon. And I thank the Maker for that.

Disney is not looking for this to be a game changer. They’re looking to make some sort of money before their fiscal year ends. Sitting on this movie until next year isn’t going to put cash in their pockets. Yeah, they won’t make movie theater profits because this movie was made on a blockbuster budget. Honestly...people are freaking out over nothing. Movie theaters love to play the victim card but they won’t have any business if studios go under...

Yeah as long as they make smart business decisions that’s right for them, they’ll be okay.
