And it was also before he joined the Avengers and the Superhuman Registration Act was put into law.

But would that be enough to remove his nervous disposition over it? His worry-wart tendencies? It shouldn't.

Ok...done chuckling...i guess i shoulda added a 5th option for you personally SIAT....lol...

Seriously tho, does moving into Avengers Tower really make a superhero go all whacky...and lose all their inhabitions and core concerns...not to mention 40 years of continuity. I don't think so.

If so, boy...it might not be in Thor's best interest to return to that team...who knows what baffling things he might do next!

Remember when Spidey originally changed to wearing the black costume at first?

It made the news.

Why?

Because the red and blues are iconic.

Do you remember when Superman dying made the news??

Why?

Because Superman is reknowned for being indestructable and POWERFUL.

Do you remember when Spidey unmasked made the news?

Why?

Because Spidey is reknowned for keeping his secret identity.
(see issue scans above for just ONE meager instance)

Does moving into Avengers Tower change every core life lesson for Spidey...or make him forget these lessons.....no. Not if written properly...that is silly.

Does Iron man's Iron Octopus Armor "gift" given to Pete ruffle his world and beliefs?? Doubt it.

Civil War needed someone unmasked. They went with shock value.
They got the best publicity, for free...because of COURSE unmasking Spidey makes THE news.
Good points, all. And it's just like I said. New circumstances shouldn't change who you are at the core. How did MJ put it? "It's not your fault they moved the goalposts."

You forgot the pain that the aforementioned losses brought him.

I don't read these issues where he's unmasking himself, although it's cool in a way because it CAN make great stories, I still think it's a bad idea.:down

it most defineitly IS a bad idea the worst spidey's had since not stopping the wrestling show box office robbery:spidey:

Although I saw a picture somewhere of Jameson looking out a window at a maskless Spider-Man. Jameson's reflection looked all shocked lol. That's pretty funny.

But, *Clears throat* still bad idea.:o

Asked by a young girl if there will be a second season of Stan Lee’s Who Wants to be a Superhero series on SciFi, Quesada said that the program was something that Lee did through his POW Entertainment brand, and suggested that she write Lee a latter and tell him that she liked it, and he’ll get back to her.

The girl followed up with, “What do you think, would happen if Spider-Man found out that you were the guys destroying his life?” Which was met by thunderous applause form the room, and stumped Quesada.

“He’d probably write Stan a letter too,” Quesada said.

As I said over in the Marvel Comics forum when this was posted...

Extremely cute and hilarious when said by a little girl.

Not extremely cute, nor hilarious when said by grown men.

Godamn SIAT, I knew you would be the first person to reply, but hell you even did it in less time than I expected.

And no its not cute or hilarious when we say it, it's pretty sad and redundant, to talk about it considering, nothing can be done about it, and nothing ever will. However its good to see that people other than "grown men" who read comics aren't the only ones throwing ****, the EIC's way

YES!!!! Fat Bastard got pwned by a little girl!!! Now HE knows how modern spidey feels!!! BTW unmasking sucks more than a vaccum and Gigli combined...

I watched "Daredevil" this weekend, mainly to hear the line DD said when he crouched on the pool table.

I agree, it is pretty sad and redundant. :oldrazz:

[sarcasm]For real...people making their distaste known about a certain storyline is sad and redundant! You should only be allowed to speak if you totally agree with what Marvel has done! LOLLAMOROTLOMG!!!![/sarcasm]

Oh, but defending it over & over ISN'T sad or redundant?

OLD SCHOOL SPIDEY RULES
JOEY Q. STYLE SPIDEY DROOLS

I'm reading the Essentials, and I can't recognize the old school Spidey when compared to the present day guy in the Spidey-suit. The old Spidey had passion, determination, intelligence, and he was TOUGH!

The modern Spidey is weak-minded, gullible, dumb, and easily beaten (which is stupid considering the amount of power upgrades he's had int he past 4 years).

yeah enough is enough do spidey RIGHT OR NOT AT ALL:spidey:

I can't comprehend what's the deal with Joe Quesada's hatred of Spider-man... Under his command Spider-man has turned into something completely opposite of what he was... He's not the same character that lots of us grew up with... like shinlyle said, take a look at classic spidey and compare him to this wannabe it's horrible!!!
the following slightly edited movie quote goes to Joe Quesada and the rest of the spidey "creative" team:
"All the time, it was...you really, finally did it!! You maniacs! You messed him up! Ah, damn you! God...damn you all to hell!"

Preach it, man!

That's the thing, go back and re-read "Nothing Stops the Juggernaut". Spidey fought tooth and nail against Juggy for two whole issues. No back up. No quitting. He didn't give up and he didn't run to his "friends" for help, either! He stood up to the most unstoppable foe in the Marvel Universe, and he won!

Look at the old tales! That issue of ASM where Spidey had a busted arm, and he fought the Vulture! What did he do? He fought the Vulture with every bit of stength he had, and he won! The Vulture got away on the last page, but Spidey beat him, forcing him to run away! He passed out on the street, in front of hundreds of New Yorkers, but he never quit!!

Now, Spidey can'te ven scratch his ass without asking for Tony's permission so that he can use his Iron Spidey-tentacles to get to his rectum!! It's horrible.

Wake me up when Joey Q's out.

Correction; that's "no back-up, no quitting, & no special weapons, armor or gadgets.

Oh yeah....my bad. ;)

And no altered powers.
Maybe that's the cause of our beef. Well, that & stories like it. We have seen Spidey triumph over seemingly insurmountable odds, & now he kisses Tony's @$$ & takes orders.

...all this after two strength upgrades, countless new powers, and stingers with which he can stab people....he now is so powerful that he takes orders.

Yup....I'm out.
