Your avatar is adorable, Haz :awesome:
Thanks. :) I only just noticed that I'd made enough posts to be upgraded to the next avatar size -- 75x75 instead of 50x50.

Oh yes, I remember that. It was hilarious, although seeing Otto's arms "leaving" him for Peter was a little bit sad :csad: But they made up with their hilarious interactions with Peter :woot: Jealousy over homework, seriously?

OK, supposed through some minor miracle we get a third season of Spectacular Spider-Man. What classic Ock tale should they adapt? I'd like to see a variation on the Owl/Octopus war arc. Maybe with Hammerhead in the Owl role. The Death of Captain Stacy would make a great season 3 cliffhanger. Revenge of the Sinister 6 would be awesome as well.

The Death of Captain Stacy would be one of my top choices. Ock/Owl gang war arc would also be superb, with a nice graphic scene of Ock beating the hell out of Black Crappy.

The Nullifier arc, or some variation of it, where Ock brain washes Spidey would also be great.

I liked the scene in the Owl/Octopus war when Ock defeats the Owl slowly, and then drops him from 25 feet up. I never cared much for the art of Al Milgrom, but the panel of the Owl after Ock dropped him was wonderfully rendered. The Owl really looked severely injured. It was also one of the few times in the Marvel books of the era where the blood was colored red, rather than just being black ink. I'd love to see that in SSM. Only some other villain would have to sub for the Owl.
The Nullifier story started out great but I hated the amnesia ending.
I'd also love to see Ock build the adamantium arms.

So, everyone heard about Spiderman 4 being cancelled and the franchise getting a reboot, right?

I was bummed about it... until I realized that a reboot means another chance at seeing Doc Ock on the big screen. :D

Yep, first thing that sprung to my mind, too. And we could get a more faithful adaption of him, too. As fantastic as Alfred Molina's Doc Ock was, I'd love to see an out and out evil Octavius who does NOT die at the end.

Heck yeah! :D

OK then, who should play Doc Ock in the reboot?

Absolutely no idea.

Can't picture anyone else but Alfred Molina at the moment. Have to think long and hard about that one.....

If your going to go for a more comic book accurate portrayal, I'd go with Wayne Knight. Put him in a white, double breasted Armani, hook him up with the mech-arms and you're in business.

Wayne Knight? Oh man, he'd be horrible. The guy is waaaaaaaay too fat, and is about as menacing as apple pie. I don't think he's got the acting chops to pull off a menacing villain. Comedy roles are more his line. That's where his talent seems to lie.

Whoever plays Doc Ock again has to have real screen presence. And you have to buy him as a scientist who's passionate to the point of obsession about his work.

New find!

Oh, and as for the topic at hand: They need to bring Alfred back. No question.

I don't know if any of you guys have seen it before, but the other day I uploaded this old commercial on to YouTube. It was for the Islands of Adventure theme park when it opened in 1999.

I think it's cool how Ock is wearing the Armani suit in the ad. And if I were ever in that kid's situation I'd be flipping my lid.
:otto:

^^^ I've seen that before. Epic commercial. Simply epic!!!

So is the Spider-Man ride in Universal studios. Went on it twice back in 2004.

Found this on YouTube. It's behind the scenes footage from SM-2 showing how the puppeteers developed Ock's tentacles. It's incredibly cool:

Sadly, I haven't been. Haven't had a chance to go.

Also, that commercial was fantastic!!! Seeing Ock in the Armani suit is a treat. Not sure if i've seen it before. I might've.

I remember that commercial. I was little back then, like 7 or 8, and that helped me think that Spider-Man was real. As well as a mad scientist with robotic arms.

I'd recommend getting there any way you can. I went in April of 2002 and July of 2008, you will love it if you do. Guaranteed.
