You obviously haven't seen the depths of my Ottolove....

Should I be scared? :oldrazz:

Joker? Shame on you for changing your name. :oldrazz:

Shame be buggered. What's in a name? A Doc Ock fan by any other name is still as deadly....:oldrazz:

Okay, question. How many Ock fans have a pair of goggles like Movie!Ock wore?

Not me. I'd love to have a pair though. With the little red lights flashing on the sides, too.

Master Planner, you look familiar!

I should, since we're both members of the Yahoo! Doctor Octopus group :oldrazz: I also have a membership on deviantart.com, as MasterPlanner of course :hehe:

Oh, and fanart!

^^ WOw, great stuff. You ever plan on making your own fan comic books series or something, Master Planner?

*giggle* I could walk by myself on the street and probably not even notice, haha!

Aw, that Ock looks pretty. I love the shades! And that hair. *swoon*

Joker, good point on the name. ;) I found a rather close pair of goggles on eBay and then was bummed that they wouldn't have the little lights. I guess we could put dots of red nail polish on the sides, hehe!

While I'm here, has anyone ever had dreams that they WERE Ock? Whenever I do, my tentacles are so weak that I can barely scale a wall before getting shot by cops. Ouch.

I don't care if it's 12:30 at night, I'm in the mood for drawing Doc Ock. :oldrazz:

@OckGal: Haaay, nice to c u! Yeah, that fan made me angry...putting it nicley.
And whats this about a full body ock out of beads? Show me :D
And yesh, those goggles would roxxor my soxxors ;)

@Joker: Yes, you should be very afraid >: )

@Planner: YAY fanart *grabs and runs off with it* ^_^

Before the accident, that Ock reminds me so much of Woody Allen, lol! It's so hard to find him hot with that voice.

Okay, colour me stupid, but I just now decided to look up this "Dr. Octogonapus" thing. When did that come about?? Was just watching it on YouTube. I wish I could come up with these things.

Doctor Octopus is a psychotic criminal who once tried to blow up New York to prove a point.
Woody Allen is a pervert and borderline child molester who continues to find work in Hollywood even though his movies never make a dime.

I got more respect for Otto.

I'm glad I never saw Ghostbusters 2 or any episode of Numbers in english though. That would have been weird. Octavius with the same voice as Yanoush in french? My god, that is something I don't want to hear :woot: The voice is great, but SO stupid! Doesn't fit a master planner like doc Ock, not it does not!

I remember your website, too. I remember you and Silver S [who doesn't post here anymore unfortunately], were the biggest Doc Ock fangirls I'd ever seen, and were always going on about how sexy Al Molina was as Ock

This place has been the first and (so far) only place where I encountered "true" fangirls. I hear about fanboys and fangirls in the place I usually go (bigger manga consumer than comic consumer, to say the truth. Speaking of which, I should try and see if the french version of my comics use lower cases or if they are plagued by that awful only-upper-case nonsense. I mean, accents should not even be used with upper case!) but never did I really understand what they were before coming here. I mean, I was scared sometimes :oldrazz:

Loved Doc Ock in the second season of the cartoon by the way. Even if I didn't really get the "hot chicks" thing that went on in Accomplices. The tentacles even seemed to show an interest in the Black Cat, what was up with that  ?
Kinda liked the fact that Otto's and Adrian's friendship seemed to have rekindled in a new, more "evil" way :cwink: Otto certainly wouldn't hesitate to get rid of him if necessary, but still, it was good to see.

Okay now I just have to wait for Bendis the last remaining of his Big Three, and I would have had everything I needed for as far as Doc Ock is concerned.

I just put it up on DeviantArt a bit ago. Be prepared for weird design-iness and funky camera-ness.

AWESOMESAUCE!!!
By the by, the Dr Octagonapus first came from the youtube-popular lazer collections. There are three, and he appears in all but the last one is by far the best. There are, however, several refrences in the 3rd one to the first two, so I would advise watching them in order. I can post the links if you like :)

And I agree, his voice in the cartoon is sheepish and nerdy- Otto is a MAN and needs a MAN'S voice. Like Alfred Molina's....;)

Oh, I could not disagree more. I felt kind of like that when I first heard Otto Octavius speak in the first episode. I thought to myself "OK, they're making him out to be the timid and weak ubernerd, but how will this sound after the accident and he becomes Doctor Octopus?"

Then I saw 'Reaction' and heard the now immortal line: "SILENCE!! You imperious moron!"

All doubt instantly evaporated. And by the time Otto shouted "Call me Doctor Octopus!" I was grinning from ear to ear.

Don't misunderstand. I'm not taking anything away from Alfred Molina. His performance was outstanding. But Peter MacNichol loves the character of Doctor Octopus as much as we do. He's putting his heart and soul into his performace as Doc Ock and it shows. He's absolutely perfect in the role.

You should have been around when fan art of Doc Ock wearing nothing but a white bathrobe, like in the Hollywood arc in USM, were going around.

Oh those were fun times with the fangirls :hehe:

Fickle chicks who were attracted to money and power. Ock has been established as a major power player in New York. Which is really great. He's butting heads with the other big guns for control of New York.

As it should be. The writers of the SSM cartoon truly understand the character of Doc Ock.

Kinda liked the fact that Otto's and Adrian's friendship seemed to have rekindled in a new, more "evil" way :cwink: Otto certainly wouldn't hesitate to get rid of him if necessary, but still, it was good to see.

I loved the new found respect Otto and Adrian had for eachother in the Master Planner arc. They both got screwed over at Oscorp, so I guess they feel some kind of kindred spirit there.

Love that scene where they try to kill Norman and Spidey by blowing up Norman's building.

Ock: "Well, we tried, Adrian"
Vulture: "Osborn's time will come. As will Spider-Man's"

Absolutely

MacNicol is fantastic. I love the anger and hate and arrogance and egotism he pumps into his Doc Ock voice.

I see what you mean, but I still maintain my position. We'll just have to agree to disagree, I suppose :)

@Joker: What's this about the white robe of sexy? Yes, I've read thru page 120 of the old ock thread ^^;

Although I would love to, I don't feel I have the necessary skills to draw comic pages (backgrounds have always been a weakness) and don't have the supplies right now.

However, I am working on an epic project of another kind. Don't worry, I will post when I get it done. :hehe:

I enjoy the cartoon plenty, just as long as you remember that SSMTV is a different universe and more comics-oriented than the movie you'll be fine.

Oh darling, would you believe that other thread that was recently closed was actually our SECOND Doc Ock lair. The first one was even bigger than that, and was closed in 2005.

This thread is actually our THIRD Doc Ock lair. The original thread became a monster in mere months back in 2003/2004, when Spider-Man 2 was in the making. There was crowds of us swarming the thread every day discussing every little leaked picture and tid bit of info we got about Doc Ock.

Not to mention there was a TON of Doc Ock comics out back then. He was in 616, he had several minis, and he was in USM. Ock was flooding the comics back in 2003/2004. I swear the original Doc Ock thread used to accumulate on average, about 10-15 pages a day. It was often hard to keep up with everything.

Those were the days.

MP, just love that artwork you posted above

Speaking of Doc Ock in USM back in '04, it was the terrific Hollywood arc that we got back then. And this was one of my favourite scenes in it. So creepy:

Well, they were friends before Norman stole Adrian's technology, something that Adrian blamed partly on Otto. They just recreated links after that, I suppose.
I like that piece of dialogue because it shows that Adrian isn't in only to get his revenge against Osborn, he is also in because he respects Otto and his goals. I just like it.
Just like I like Otto's recognition of Adrian's work on his Master Plan : Otto designed the thing, but Vulture and Tinkerer were the ones charged with the construction, something that Otto couldn't do by himself unless he blows up his cover.

Ultimate Doc Ock is the master of creepy. I mean, the tooth scene? Or the one where he puts that dead doctor in front of the camera before pulling him away?

I don't understand people who says that Norman is Peter's most personal and crazy foe in the Ultimate universe. Norman's goals are rational to an extent, he wants fame, he wants the glory of having created Spider-Man, he wants his company back, etc. But Otto? He is crazy, murderous, unethical, every single thing he has done has screwed Peter's lie big time : clone saga, Gwen finding out about his secret identity (although that one must have lead to the latest development in Peter's "love life" so...), etc. He takes joy in seeing Peter's life be so definitely screwed even if his intent was not to do so in the first place;
