Some awesome Doc Ock designs by Paolo Rivera from around 2004.

^^ Wow, those are awesome! Paolo is oen of my faovrite Spidey artists from the past few years.

All of you need to go and pick up the latest issue of ASM. Doc Ock is planning some MAJOR evil deeds that look like it's going to affect the world. Slott is really pushing the envelope with Ock.

I just love seeing Doc Ock verbally dissing Smythe lol.

Odd that Otto seems to have a degree of respect for Spencer Smythe. I wonder if there is a story there.

Be neat if they knew each other once. Worked together maybe.

^^ Agreed. Maybe we'll find out more about their...past (if they had one) in the future.

Latest word on the street is that Doctor Octopus may be a DLC playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

A couple of hackers found files in the game among the characters labeled "droctopus" and in the attack menu "Dr OckT", in addition to Frank West data, another rumored DLC.

I'm crossing my fingers so that the good doctor becomes available.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does DLC stand for? I would loooooove to have Doc Ock as a playable character.

DLC= Down Loadable Content. :)

Yes Doc Ock would be epic to play as.

Downloadable Content. Also known as the plague of modern gaming by a number of consumers. Basically, it's content added to the game through Internet, sometimes it's free, but usually you have to pay. The content varies from bonus costumes to entire story-lines, through things like bonus characters.

I think Capcom is infamous for them, as they usually do DLC without the 'downloadable' part : the content is already on the disc, but locked away until you pay.

I was thinking about Spectacular earlier and how Otto was this spineless wimp when we first met him, but it didn't take him long at all to become the cunning, arrogant, menacing Doc Ock.

"No more 'Yes, Mister Osborn, 'Please, Mister Osborn, 'I'm sorry, Mister Osborn!'...How I've groveled before that man! But soon the whole world shall grovel before the genius that is Doctor Octopus!"

And once he found that place, that sense of power, he stayed there. Even moving on to become the Master Planner.

Thanks guys. I should have known that, since I've downloaded lots of stuff onto my PS3. Playing as The Joker in the Arkham Asylum game being one of the most fun downloads I've ever done.

How I love the SSM version of Doc Ock. He was perfect. In a mere two seasons, they covered some of his greatest hits from the comics:

- Sinister Six
- The Master Planner
- Gang War

That show was cut off way before it's time.

Anyone ever read Amazing #297? If it's good, I'll buy it.

Yeah, it's pretty good. It's the first part of a two part story that continues in #298.

I think I mentioned this before, but I loved how we even got hints he wasn't that good either, with his little rant in "The Invisible Hand" and his fantasy of attacking Osborn in "Reaction". Just a ticking bomb waiting to go off.

Yep, looks that way. The only way I'd buy any DLC characters for MvC3 would be for Doc Ock, there being no other Spidey characters but 6 X-Men characters was disappointing for me.

^^ I actually haven't picked up MvC3 yet, but I plan to. Wish there was more Spidey character though.
