The Master Planner episode debuts tomorrow on the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. Woooooo Hoooooo!!!!

It's already aired in Bulgaria, and I've read a few spoilers:

- Octavius is indeed the Master Planner
- He gets Vulture and Electro to kidnap Gwen so he can force Captain Stacy to give him some security codes he needs for his scheme to conquer the world
- Spidey will indeed be buried under a large pile of rubble and debris

Are we excited or what? :D :otto:

Re: spoilers
Kick. ASS.

HELL to the YEAH.

Eagerly anticipating this; they've been holding me over for the whole past week.

I've just read more spoilers about this episode from people who saw it. I wont post them, as I'd like you guys to have a few surprises. But I'll just say that they honour the classic Master Planner story ten fold.

Doc Ock is on TOP form in this episode. He does all kinds of magnificent evil in this. Here's one little bit of humour though that you'll really get a kick out of:
Ock drinks from a mug that says 'Evil Genius' :D :otto:

More news regarding Doc Ock's return in #600:

NRAMA: Back to villains then, and not Dan’s villain with an M, another villain that's been promised a return in 2009 is Doctor Octopus. What can you say about what brings him back into Spider-Man's world, and does he get an Oprah makeover too?

SW: All I can hear now is Oprah yelling. “Doc AH—AHHHCK!” Liz Lemon style.

Ock’s back in #600 with a new look to say the very least.

Can I Mention it’s by Slott and John Jr? There’s also a ton more going on that issue with more surprises to announce later. I’d love to get this comic to be as big as humanly possible.

They also mention the Sinister Six:

NRAMA: Let's talk about the return of the Sinister Six first - are we talking the classic "Six" (albeit with updated players) or a new mashup?

SW: The Sinister Six is much to small. We have much, much bigger ideas.

NRAMA: Well then, who will be writing this arc, and was it their idea to bring them in/back, or was it part of the larger Spider-Plan?

SW: Too soon to reveal, but there will be a lead in mini-series filling in the blanks of the lives of one of Spidey’s greatest adversaries (an enemy he may not even be aware of). That book will run along side Amazing for few months later in the year and lead right into Sinister 666 if all goes to plan. We still have a retreat between now and then though, so things may change once we’re in the room.

The seeds of all this came from a conversation I had with Phil Jimenez soon after I took the job here and has been expanded on immensely by all the Spidey-writers over the past year.

I am sooooooo excited. Ock is getting a new look. I wonder what it'll be like. Some badass tentacle upgrades?

Darn tootin'!

Lets have a discussion about this bad boy. I know it was pretty much flawless, but what parts had you particularly geeking out in happiness?

Hey, congrats man!

You're going to love them. That's a guarantee

Is the new SSM on youtube yet? I'm getting a rash from my jealousy at not being able to see it. :cmad:

Nope! They're being ridiculously slow putting it on there. I got fed up waiting for it last night and just downloaded the torrent.

As a Doc Ock fan, I just ran out of patience!

I wonder if CW isnt allowing any more episodes to be put on YT before the new season officially premieres here in the States. Its just so strange that episodes are being released in Canada and Bulgaria but not here.:csad:

Then again, I guess I'm spoiled as we always get stuff early.

This was a great episode. What else can I say? It was just fun.

It's... I dunno, every bit that had Otto in it was wonderful. The evil genius mug, the sheer awesome of his power upgrade plot, the way he handled /everyone/, even the way he handled defeat. The, "oh, how clever of you to have guessed the truth... AFTER I revealed it" line.

And, of course, the nod to a certain CLASSIC Spidey moment... even recreating panels in the animation. Really lovely.

The highlights for me:

- The interaction Ock had with Toomes and Electro. I love the mutual respect Ock and Vulture had for eachother, and how they addressed eachother as Otto and Adrian instead of their villain names.
And as for Electro, when he started quizzing Ock about his tactics, and Ock smiles and puts his hand on Electro's shoulder and says "Ahhh Electro, always so charmingly uncomplicated". But my favourite one was when Ock was using Captain Stacy to get the codes, and Electro says "Why do you need this guy, Doc? With your brain you can do anything". Re-enforcing that mentor/father figure thing they set up back in the Group Therapy episode between them.

- The fight scenes. Both Electro's and Ock's battles with Spidey were superb. They literally brought the house down. "Max, Maxy, Maxamillion, Maximum" :woot:
Oooh and I love those spinning blade thingys Ock's tentacle claws can do. Haven't seen them since his debut as Ock. Was very glad to see them again.

- The classic scene of Spidey being buried under debris. 'Nuff said!

- Little touches like Ock's 'Evil Genius' mug. LOL! This Doc Ock could give the comic book version lessons on egotism :woot:

I haven't seen the episode yet :waa: But I know that with my username, I certainly bloody will! :word:

Now, while we're on the splendid subject of SSMTV, an odd but highly amusing addition to the Lair found from the excessive time I spend surfing the web:

Obviously it's not drawn by me, you've all seen enough of my art style to know better than that. :cwink:

LOL! Cute! What is he trying to open? Is it a jar of cookies?

Peanut butter, maybe? He better be careful, he doesnt want to catch salmonella poisoning. :o

I agree, the mutual respect between Otto and Adrian was oddly a nice touch. I'm actually surprised that Otto tolerates Adrian, as the very first thing we saw as the series premiered was Toomes threatening Otto.

Oh, and thanks for the links, Joker.
