Cool. You know, Ock didn't seem all that visually imposing back in the day. The tentacles looked like a minor threat at best. But now-

he is the epitome of badass.

^^ That's amazing! Where did you find it?

I don't read fan fics of any kind, mate. But best of luck with it

That is gorgeous. The cover to ASM #11.

Where on earth did you find that?

It's the cover for the newest edition of the Marvel Masterworks ASM vol. 2 TPB.

^^ Awesome! I saw the new cover for Vol. 1 of Marvel Masterworks ASM in my LCS not too long ago.

Also, thanks a bunch, Joker. :yay::up:

Great recoloring job on that second volume. Hopefully they continue past the fourth, which is the furthest Marvel Masterwork I have in trade format. And yea, the tentacles have really improved and become more threatening over time. I can only imagine how they plan to improve/update him for his upcoming appearance.

Sorry for the quoting of a large image, but I was browsing this thread and when I came across it I was like, wow! This drawing of Doctor Octopus is the spitting image of my neighbor, only difference really is he would be holding bottles of beer in both hands.

Either way, that is a wonderful image of the good Doctor. I've stopped collecting comics books for quite sometime now, but I recently was reading through some of my old comic books and came across some featuring Doctor Octopus, he is truly a great character which has stood the test of time.

Yes, I can't wait to see this new look he's getting.

Though I'd be quite content to see the armani suit return.

I don't know if you've heard, but he's making a big comeback in the 600th issue of Amazing Spider-Man this year.

Dan Slott is writing it, and Romita Jr is doing the artwork. Cannot wait!!!!

The armani suit returning would be the eptiome of awesome.

I'm still fearful.

Fear not... I'm sure Mr. Slott won't disappoint us. Besides... what's the worst that they could do....?

Now that I think about it, I don't want to know the answer to that.

A Doc Ock reference in the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man:

I love when they do that, have some civilian say to the hero "You probably don't remember me, but you saved me from this super villain once".

Oh no, you jinxed it! :wow:

Though the ASM page is nice.

Probably, but you know, I don't really have a whole lot of faith in ASM anyways, even if it has had some good stories since OMD. At this point I'm only on board for a select few writers, and before that I take art into consideration.

Haz and Kraven, worry not my Ocklings, you must have faith that he will look awesome. In fact, they are having several artists do #600 according to Steve Wacker:

Q: In regards to # 600, which is a milestone issue without any doubt, will we see those amazing artists such as martin, Bachalo, Jimenez and JRJR on board? I hope so because they helped and help to make ASM such a great title in regards to art. Thanks for your time.

Wacker: For Spidey 600, I was just typing up something today and most of the folks you mention will be involved. It’ll be a big, beautiful comic. We have a lot to live up to after the stunning work on Thor #600, but I’m aiming to top it.

See they're really making this one very special. They're pulling out all the stops. And Doc Ock will be right in the thick of this issue gettting the red carpet treatment. Think positive, folks.

And Master Planner, when the heck are you going to tell us what you thought of the SSM cartoon episode based on the very username you've chosen? ;)

What issue is that page from and what happens in it? I couldn't get it.:csad:

It's from the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man that came out just this week. Issue #587. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Seeing as Mephisto 'rebooted' Spider-Man, I wonder where #600 will pick up, in relation to Doctor Octopus?

I loved it! :otto: What else could I possibly say?!

Seeing as Mephisto 'rebooted' Spider-Man, I wonder where #600 will pick up, in relation to Doctor Octopus?

I guess we'll all find out together... :o

Master planning something fiendish, diabolical, and brilliant hopefully :cwink:
