Booo! Hissss!:cmad:

But congrats. :cwink:

Don't worry I don't really believe that. Not with Norman, anyway :o

He's good enough to rank beside Octavius in the villainy department. Marvel need to realize the potential awesomeness of having these two work together some time against Spidey.

A partnership would be interesting, but I cant see them working together well at all. Both are the headstrong leader-type. Neither will be second fiddle. It would be a recipe for confrontation, which would also be entertaining. We need a no holds barred Goblin/Octopus War. :pal:

So, just watched the episode...twas awesome. Finally got that comic moment in another medium, and after only five decades! ;)

Seriously, though, it was a good episode, with a lot of neat character moments that really harken back to the Spidey we all know and love. I loved the idea of
Spidey defeating Doc Ock through sensory overload, I think that's a first. Both adversaries had some pretty good lines, too.

Overall, a welcome breath of fresh air.

It had one of his best lines.

Spiderman: (robo arms from the walls tht look lik Ocks attack spidey) Let her go Master Planner. Or should I say Dock Ock!

Dr.Octopus: Well done Spiderman. You are very clever finding out my identity AFTER I revealed it to you.

Priceless:woot:

I loved the "Web Of Death" arc. The whole idea of Ock not wanting Spider-Man to die, at least not that way. That was supervillain greed & arrogance at its finest. I'm still a little unclear on whether Ock wanted the privelege of killing Spidey at his prime, or just couldn't stand the thought of there not being a Spider-Man to interfere with his plans. Or both. Either way it was awesome.

I assume that he intended to kill Spidey eventually. I mean, he even said immediately after his resurrection that he wanted Spider-Man's death more than anything else in the world. I dont know if that was years worth of pent up hatred talking or if he was humiliated that he had been killed. I think Otto would be the kind of guy that would see being killed as beneath him.

Ock did want the privelege of killing Spider-Man himself. Ock noticed that Spider-Man had changed. That there was something wrong with him. I loved that. How Ock knew Spidey so well that he could spot these behavioural differences in him. And remember Ock had no idea Peter was Spider-Man, which made his observations even more impressive.

Ock came to respect Spidey as the only adversary who was able to challenge him. And if Spidey was going to die it was going to be at Ock's hands. I remember Stunner scoffed at how easily she beat Spidey, and Ock tells her "With all due respect, my dear, it was too easy. The Spider-Man I know would have given you a fight you'd remember til your dying day".

Wabbit, glad to hear you enjoyed the episode. As if there was any doubt ;)

Ah, I love grudging mutual respect. How ironic that Peter wished he had a challenging adversary....right before he met Octopus, who slapped him and tossed him out a window.:hehe:

Which resulted in him questioning whether he should continue on, coming back with renewed resolve & taking Ock down. They were each other's first defeat. That's one thing that makes the dynamic of their relationship so awesome.

Thats something that I like about hero/villain "relationships." They do sort of get to know each other as people. Fight and struggle with the same person again and again over years and you do get to know them.

With the upcoming "Dark Reign" event and Norman Osborn busy running the Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts, I should hope that Otto will soon make his reappearance as the foremost of Spidey's villains. If I'm not mistaken, he'll have a nice evil plan for world domination in the works...instead of, you know, just running around the city with his shirt off.

Not that I mind seeing him run around the city with his shirt off...never mind. :o

:otto:

Wait, is that Ock smiley smoking a cigarette? Sheesh, this is the first time I've noticed it. Good job, Demo. Real observant.

Yes, I guess there is a big Ock story coming up in Amazing. Glad to see that a classic villain will be keeping Spidey busy while Norm is off running the world. :pal:

Took me a while before I saw the smoking, either.

I've seen a few other examples that were that extreme. I don't think Joker would ever sit by & let someone else kill Batman. I loved how in the animated "Doomsday" Lex was so distraught over Superman dying by someone else's hand.
