@Brian: most intriguing storyline, I like it! :up: Esp. the GG/Otto war, that could really go somwhere. I love this like "Remove harmful side affects (insanity)" lol!

@OctoHaz: Like Planner said, pretty much xD

@Joker: That he does :heart::otto::heart:

So what's ol' Spidey been doing the whole time Ock is out there looking for a cure? Dealing with the super-villains Otto broke out of jail and hired to keep Peter distracted.

And after Otto cures himself, he modifies the formula, removing the components that produce harmful side effects (insanity) and enhancing the components that provide superhuman strength. He then gives it to Angelina Brancale. She comes out of her coma transformed into a 7 foot tall blonde warrior goddess, Stunner reborn!

The Green Goblin, enraged at Octavius' invasion of his turf, tracks Ock down after being on his trail for a while. The Goblin bursts in on Ottos' secret lab and attacks. Otto strikes back with unprecidented might, informing Osborn that Doctor Octopus once again wields the full unparalled power of his adamantium tentacles!

That'd be awesome.

I really hope they do this somewhere along down the lines. They must know that the fans want it. Joker and Two Face have crossed swords in the Batman comics. So have Joker and Lex Luthor.

Even better, I'd love to see Otto and Norman form a grudging alliance. I loved when they worked together in Ultimate Six. Bendis was genius at writing them in all their egotistical glory.

@brianbuck: That sounds splendid. Marvel should hire you. :P :word:

Thanks, I wish they would. But I'm not sure how to break into the biz as a writer. I tried to as an artist but got shot down.

I re-read ASM #600 again last night. I read it more slowly than the first time I read it, absorbed the story a bit more. And I have to say I enjoyed it even more the 2nd time around. It's still got flaws, but overall I enjoyed it alot.

Doc Ock's look didn't bother me at all. I still like the creepiness of it. And I know it's only temporary, so that makes it easier, too. Plus, those octobots that he can control and surround himself with are so cool. I hope they are used alot more in future stories. He can come up with all kinds of nasty ways to use them.

I loved the underlying sadness to Ock's plight and situation, but ultimately his own evil side just had to ruin it all. And his parting panels of promising to do something really terrible was great. We know he's coming back to do something really nasty. Can't wait for that. This little scheme caused the Fantastic Four and the Avengers to be called in. Just imagine what'll happen next time when he does something really terrible. And factors Spidey into his scheme.

Yeah, ASM #600 didn't live up to the hype, or meet the expectations that I had. But after taking a step back and just reading it again, it was a very good story in it's own right.

Hmm... that new look is interesting, to say the least. I'll have to see it in the context of the story I guess. Hopefully it'll be coming in the mail one of these days. Avoiding all those spoilers is tough.

The central idea for the idea I had was Otto in a desperate search for a cure. He attacks Captain America and Wolverine and obtains samples of their blood. Finding nothing useful in the Super Soldier serum or Wolverines' DNA, Otto prepares for death. Then he makes an astounding discovery, there is one thing that can cure him: the strength enhancing formula developed by Mendel Stromm that turned Norman Osborn into the Green Goblin. Otto obtains the formula and studies it. He learns that with the formula, dose is the key. Otto uses the formula at a lower dose than what Osborn used, and it works. Otto is still left emaciated, but the radiation has been purged from his system and the healing factor in the Goblin formula is slowly restoring his body to normal, Otto goes into hiding just as Osborn finds out about what happened, thus setting up an eventual Octopus/Goblin War

Also, Otto would then have the healing factor, only not as potent. It would still be able to heal him from severe injuries, though.

Marvel needs to hire you, seriously. You'd certainly be better at the job than Mr. Quesada! :woot:

@Joker: The octobots remind me of sputnik, except they move. Or of the sentinels from Matrix :whatever:

@Kraven: I hope it comes soon D:

@Planner: No kidding!

@Brian: You should write up a draft and send it off to them They just might like it :cwink:

We'll just have to agree to disagree, Joker. :)

Now, if 600 turns out to really be the lead-in for something truly awesome, I'll forgive it and stop calling it names. ;)

BTW, was I the only one who laughed at the "Spider-Man gets to first base with Doc Ock" line?

Bloody hell, not one single Happy Birthday wish for me from any of my Octavians :csad:

Is a belated birthday greeting from a Goblinphile acceptable?

In my defense, I haven't been on the Hype as much as I used to, so sorry :(

Happy Birthday though :hyper:

Ahhh that's better :yay:

Thanks so much, guys. You all rock :up:

Happy birthday, Joker.

And am I the only one who now desperately wants an 'Evil Genius' coffee mug?

Thanks guys! Brian, I'd love an Evil Genius coffee mug. Hell I'd love a Doc Ock coffee mug. I've got a Spider-Man one.

Btw, I just noticed that our humble little lair just went past the 11'000 posts mark.

Still one of my favorite pics of Ock.

Happy belated birthday, Joker :) *didn't know ^^;*

On the DIEDIEDIEDIE pic: wow, he's NOT HAPPY lol

@Demogoblin: That's an interesting panel you have there. He is reminiscing and almost feeling sorry, I think. Almost that is :cwink:

That was one of my favorite aspects of the Web of Death arc. It put a whole new perspective on the relationship between Spider Man and Doctor Octopus
