Well yes, that's 8 limbs. But he always refers to them as arms or tentacles. Now he has got 8 arms.

Am I the only one happy that Ock's upgraded like this? :csad: Spidey had a hell of a time just dealing with 4 of them. I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees Ock with six of them.

Assuming that image is accurate to what happens in the story, of course. But it fits with this new look they mentioned, so it probably is accurate.

Not really, sorry, Mister J. Too reminiscent of ole Carlyle Calamari to me. :csad:

To Doctor Doom: You know, I do take commissions for crochet work. You'll have to pay shipping out to Latveria, though :p

Indeed. If that really is the cover to ASM 600, than we already have a classic.

If this new Ock story in #600 ends with Spidey knocking out Ock with (yet another) punch to the jaw, I'm gonna be really steamed. Ock needs his force field back, along with his Adamantium arms.
And I really hope Stunner returns.

I thought Carolyn was the one with the force field, when she was the Second Doctor Octopus :o

And Stunner's here, posting on her lover's fanthread in SHH under the username of "The Master Planner". When the Master Planner himself lets her on the computer and his internet account, of course. :oldrazz: (jk, but my email address is [email protected].)

I'm a sucker for anything with Otto's mug on it, you know that. (no pun intended) I even spent ten bucks on the Out of Reach trade paperback. :o

That is dedication to the tentacled one.

I bought Out of Reach issue by issue when it was first released, even though I knew by the 2nd issue that it was a pile of poop, I still kept buying :o

Right you are! Ock never used it himself.

brian, I wouldn't be surprised if Ock doesn't get captured at the end. But rather he escapes.

Yeah, Ock deserves a better defeat then getting punched in the jaw. I want a long, epic fight.

Yes he did. Carolyn gave him a dupicate of hers that Otto used immediately after his ressurection. He had a force field and I want him to regain it.

I'm sorry but...this is just an idea I can't get behind.

Nope.

I am pleased they finally got rid of those God-awful organic style tentacles though. ...And while I'm not a fan of the extra limbs, there's no way I'm going to miss this issue! If they write him well and do his character justice, then I'll be happy.

You know what sucks? I drew these Doc Ock pics today while I was sick from school (well actually, I faked it XD) and the ones was me experimenting with broken glass, which looks good considering my terrible drawing skills, and I was going to post them on here to the Lair's approval, but my scanner don't work.

You made an Ock mosaic? :wow:

I hope you get your scanner fixed or get your hands on a camera soon because I'd really like to see that!

For real?

If you were ever willing to make a Beck doll, I'd buy it. Seriously.

been so busy thinking nothing much has happened in Ock's life and I see tht cover by mr.ross!

OH MY GOD!!!!!

btw i've always counted his limbs as well as the tentacles for octopus. May take a while for me to calm down now!!

Oh, and as promised previously:

Enjoy! :woot: I'm currently working on a black suit, for his turn in the Ultimate Clone Saga. And although I have tried my best to keep my Ottoplushie up to date with all of Ock's various reinventions, I'm not going to sew two more tentacles to his back! :oldrazz:

Neither of those guys could do that. I think the arms were taken away & destored after "Revenge Of The Sinister Six".
And I don't remember him ever having a force field. I know Carolyn had one.

And shifting gears:
This is just a cool moment.

Ok, lets sort this six tentacles thing out. You can view this one of two ways:

1. You can count Ock's legs as part of his limbs for being an actual Octopus.
2. Or you can just view the limbs he actually uses that make him lethal, including his own flesh and blood arms. Because he is often referred to as a "Six armed menace" or "Multi armed menace" etc. Arms not legs. Like a real Octopus.

Either way, you've got an Octopus.

Awesomeness, MP. You did an amazing job on it

:otto:

Talking about it, what happened with his adamantium tentacles?
Hulk ripped it apart? Maybe Wolverine?

You can't break adamantium. It's indestructible.

They were stored away after Revenge of the Six like Chris said.

This is just a cool moment.

It's funny how he never talked to his tentacles until the Hollywood arc. Obviously that whole arc was in honour of Spider-Man 2 which was due for release at the time.

Love that scene. Love that whole arc. One of USM's best.

"Guy named Otto Octavius winds up with 8 limbs. What are the odds?"

I loved the idea of him talking to the tentacles. I'd actually like to see more of that.

I wouldn't. Well not in regular continuity anyway. I don't mind it in movies, cartoons, or USM because they are alternate universes where changes are always made, and frankly are to be expected.

But in 616 he never saw them as a seperate entity that he would talk to.

That was one of my favorite aspects of Ock in the film. Made you wonder what they were saying. My god, it reminds me of how brillitanly played Ock was in S-M2.

At the same time, it made me want to see Venom even less, as we'd already gone there. He even occasionally referred to himself in the plural!

Eh, I count his legs. :oldrazz:

Hahaha, the kid in the scan says that's cheating :oldrazz:

Like I said, there is two ways to look at this scenario. But if we want to get really technical, an Octopus has eight arms:

Octopuses are characterized by their eight arms (as distinct from the tentacles found in squid and cuttlefish), usually bearing suction cups.

Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus

So you see why I'm not against the idea of him having six tentacles. He can still very much call himself Doctor Octopus.
