Doctor Who - Not a Hugging Type of Thread

I really don't think the show needs to make the Doctor a woman. That would kind of be jumping the shark for me.

Doctor Who is unique in that it refreshes itself via regeneration. Why the hell does the show need to drastically change the main characters gender to achieve a "re freshness"?

It just screams of fan fiction. Leave this "twist" to the Master/Missy.

I don't see how a character regenerating is any more drastic than making him the "Last of the Time Lords" just to bring the character back in modern times.

He'll return to being a man again. It's just a regeneration.

At very least, it's a window into what goes on in Moffatt's bedroom. I'm guessing a lot of strict lessons on Victorian propriety are involved.

I wouldn't put it past him.

He already screwed the regeneration limit up, declaring without Clara the Doctor would be nothing, and morphed the Master into the latest of a long line of his one dimensional female villians.

It's probably true, since the Cybermen are made out of dead people in the finale.

I mean, it's probably just an educated guess because of that and the fact that UNIT are involved with the finale... so, i'd say 50/50 chance of it being true.
