Doctor Who - Not a Hugging Type of Thread

Well that was the biggest waste of time that Doctor Who has been in a long time.

how coincidental that the Brig was in THAT particular cemetary, LOL...

He wasn't, necessarily. Having flown into the stratosphere to catch his daughter, he plausibly went in search of The Doctor.

I still can't get over the fact that whenever there's an alien incursion on Earth, all governmental authority is now transferred to the Doctor, making him the President of Earth...

Who was in the cyberman that the Doctor saluted?

BTW, something potentially mind-blowing that I was made to realize: the Master's return may not have happened at the start of this news season but actually happened in..."The Day of the Doctor" 50th Anniversary Special. Remember that moment where the War, 10th, and 11th Doctors came out of the painting, followed by Clara? Take a closer look at the hand gripping the side of the frame...that's not actually Clara's hand!

EDIT: And it helps potentially explains just how the Master was able to escape The Time War after getting sucked back in during "The End Of Time."

I'll be damned, there IS a hand there at 52:41 or thereabouts... the hand really isn't Clara's, but it IS right next to her, and she pays absolutely no mind to it or whoever is there that the hand belongs to... wonder what's up with that?!?

I just checked... always thought that scene looked weird. :funny:

Kinda looks like Missy's.

I was watching Day of the Doctor the other day and that really struck me as weird. I always thought it was just an awful shot in an otherwise awesome scene, but now I'm not so sure.

And for those who need a better look:

I am not eager enough to look at past episodes, but the answer to the question is on the rings on those fingers. Rings on the middle and pinkie fingers are distinctive.

How awesome would that be to have that actually be Missy's hand! lol. I always though it looked odd compared to the way Clara appeared to be standing. I don't think it is actually Missy's hand though, the arm in the shot does appear to movie slightly with Clara....

She can be recast with someone less annoying.

I'm gonna be honest, I freaking loved Michelle Gomez as Missy. Her bizarre attitude honestly makes her one of my favorite villains ever.

i definitely want more Michelle Gomez next season
well more michelle gomez in general, need to check out some of her other work

It is Clara's hand. She can be seen wearing the same rings on the middle and pinkie fingers of her right hand elsewhere in the episode.

I think the reason it looks a little odd is the episode was shot in 3D making her hand stick out more in that frame (so it looks closer to the camera) than it might have looked if shot in normal 2D.

The scene where she taunts and kills Osgood is better than everything Simm ever did, IMO. I was surprised how much I liked her. She felt dangerous.

You're probably right, as I do believe there are scenes where you can see those rings on Clara's fingers. It's just the way the hand is placed in relation to where Clara is and she appears to be moving down as she steps out while the hand stays still really does throw things off perspective wise.

I think people are a bit harsh on Simm, I think when he was more subtle and calm he was good, he was sinister and seemed a credible threat but RTD just made him devolve into Evil Doctor Joker. I think if Simm had played the Master like he does when he's with The Doctor, were they're just talking that's fine and have him have a sort of sarcastic sense of humour which hides his insanity that comes out in flashes, not all the time.

I think Simm and Missy both do something with the role that I don't particularly like, by moving it away from Blofeld and towards The Joker. Others seem to, though, so who am I to complain.

See, this is exactly why the Doctor needs a companion: when solving a mystery, you need one person to ask the right question, and the other person to solve the mystery by answering that question.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to change out of this red wig and policewoman's costume that wobbly asked me to put on for some reason.
