I thought the episode was absolutely wonderful, but kinda disappointed the really popular fan theory turned out to be true due to the lack of my surprise. I sure was smiling though, oh yeah and the best Cyberman reveal in Nu Who I think?

Above all else, I really enjoyed (yet again) the relationship between the Doctor and Clara.

The opening was fantastic.

was a tad bit disappointed that Missy wasnt an original villain, but hey so she's the Master and i've come to accept that.

ive never had a problem with Time Lords crossing genders during regenerations personally. and as a canonist i got nothing to complain about since its been done before way back in the past. it isnt some hokey politically correct thing-- its a thank-goodness-you've-caught-up-with-the-times thing. the only issue about this is how long it took for DW to actually get up to speed. Star Trek got you trumped on this area Doc

Danny and Clara. well firstly, i didnt hate Danny, but i thought he was incredibly underutilized this season. but hey so finally we see his purpose. its good y'know, he brings to the fore a lot of issues that affects us culturally and as a species (life-after-deaths belief and practices, conscience and regret, love and sacrifice), same goes with Clara. now this time what she did isnt out of character from the Clara we knew of Eleven. she will do everything in her power for the one she loves, whether it be the Doctor or her beloved.

also is there something about the "Doctor Skarosa"? Cybermen got the one up on the Daleks?

a well deserved 9/10. i want to see the next ep NOW dangit!

Of course I am one of the few but I wish River would come back, seeing her and Missy play off each other would be entertaining.

yep #THIS. before the big reveal i thought Missy was the Great Intelligence making a comeback. with Cybermen this time.

have no interest in an assistant's love life. show seems to be aimed at a kiddies demographic. overproduced with a terrible soundtrack most of the time. miss the classic series which developed their villains with more episodes to work with and relied more upon an actor's ability despite the clunky effects. don't mind the current doctors personality. those new cyberman walk in an extremely camp style. wtf. get back to the basics

Also, how did Missy even get into the nethersphere to speak to the clockwork droid without being dead?

I am hoping the Clara clones made it into the Netherspere and end up helping the Doctor like Oswin did and not the LOVE CONQUERS stuff from Closing Time.

I think it's important to note that they said the Nethersphere was actually a miniature copy of the Matrix. Knowing what the Matrix is explains quite a bit about what's happening...


The Matrix was Gallifrey's main computer system. It monitored the whole of time and space, and saved any information it decided was important. All Time Lords and students had limited access to the Matrix like a library system, but higher ups in the government had access to its higher functions. The Lord/Lady President had full unrestricted access.

The Matrix was also capable of storing copies of people's minds. For example, every Lord/Lady President in Time Lord history had a copy of him/herself inside the Matrix.

Here's the thing: You could also physically walk into the Matrix and interact with anybody/anything inside. The season finale back in 1986, for example, took place almost entirely in the Matrix-- the Doctor, the Valeyard, and Mel walked through a Matrix Door and had their final confrontation inside a fully interactive landscape.

Missy's Nethersphere is a machine capable of looking at the whole of time & space, uploading minds, and can be physically interacted with.

Cause it's a bit confusing with the Master able to pull minds from across time and space with no body in contrast to what you're describing with people uploading themselves to the Matrix.

There still seems to be a bit of a question about whether this is even Danny.

I was rewatching the episode again and I just happened to notice that doors inside the Nethersphere had windows in the shape of a Cyberman's helmet eyelets... something I missed the first time...

also, I assum that that kid was an innocent that got caught in the firefight and killed because of Danny?...

I always assumed that clicking your fingers was just another way to open the doors rather than lock/unlock the TARDIS. If the TARDIS is locked then clicking your fingers won't do nothin'.

The show has been back 9 years now. I'm not sure a female Master is going to shake up the dynamic. Gallifrey is back yet it isn't really, not yet.

Maybe Missy's assuming the Doctor left him/her to the mercy of Rassilon on the other side of the time lock, rather than the Doctor simply getting knocked unconscious by the explosion.
